Good Morning to you all!
Well I've had a very busy week I do hope you will scroll down and read previous posts.
As you know the deadline date for anything 'SIBOL' related is end of November and the last
Shawls and Sunshine Blankets are arriving at my Home. I shall be receiving again after the New Year.
Today I have received two beautiful Shawls from Liztelf.
I love your Shawls Liztelf the edgings are so pretty and finish them off beautifully. Thank you so much.
We have one from Sally too. So colourful and some pretty Butterflies which will be very useful. Thank you.
I'm so grateful to everyone that follows the SIBOL Blog and I noticed on my live feed that I very often have someone from Redmond, Washington visit me. I would like to return the visit so if you could leave a comment with your Blog address I'd love to say hello! Thank you.
A big Thank you to everyone that has supported 'SIBOL' throughout the year you've all be fantastic!
I shall be accepting Sunshine Blankets and Shawls again in the New Year. End of November is the last date for deliveries this year. I shan't be going out again in December as I have to get myself sorted for Christmas and I do realise everyone are Knitting and Crocheting for Christmas.
If anyone wants to make Butterflies over the Christmas holiday period I'd be happy to accept in January. We are always in need of them for our Sunshine Blankets. Here's the LINK to Nettie's Blog in Australia.
The Homes really appreciate the work we do for them especially with the cuts they are experiencing, so a Big Thank you from them too! I shall be popping in from time to time and I hope you will scroll down and view our beautiful Blankets.
Thank you!

Delivery Day to Olivet, Birmingham.
Good evening and many thanks for stopping by!
I've had such a busy day but very rewarding indeed. First of all this morning I had 6 Sunshine Blankets arrive from Jane and Cara. If you would like to scroll down the posts you will be able to
see what I received. Such beautiful Blankets and I'm extremely grateful to both of you thank you.
In total by the end of the morning my total number of Sunshine Blankets was 46 to deliver. The home I had arranged to visit was Olivet in Birmingham. Over the past few days I have been getting the Blankets ready and then a mad rush this morning to get the last few decorated up and ready to take.
I arrived at the Home just after 2.00pm and was met by Jane. I was shown in to the Lounge where I met Staff and a few of the Residents. We had to put the boxes on the trolley to take into the Lounge there were such a lot of Blankets. The Residents had gone out for lunch and they were a little late back. Their treat was a Fish and Chip lunch how lovely.
Margaret (Left) In charge of the Knitting Group.
Jane (Right) Manager of the Home.
It was a lovely room and seats were ready for the Residents and in the centre was a table with china cups and biscuits. It really was a picture. It reminded me of when I used to visit my Grandmother we always drunk out of a flowered china cup.
The Residents soon arrived and got out their Knitting needles. I'm going to give you a Link now and you will be able to pop over to their newsletter. It will tell you all about their Charity Knitting. Here it is.
It was really lovely to be able to sit and chat with the Residents. They were all busy with their Knitting and I commented how they were Knitting without looking down at their Needles, chatting away happily not making any mistakes! They were all so happy and content with their Knitting and Margaret who was in charge of the Knitting Group told me about her childhood in Scotland and how she had learnt Knitting from a very early age. It's so nice to hear everyone's stories!
Tea and biscuits were handed around and soon after I got up and gave a little talk about our Group. I explained how our project started and all about my Grandmother.
The Ladies were really interested and guess what? They absolutely loved your Blankets! They couldn't get over how beautiful they were. A few of the Ladies could crochet so they were interested very much in PinkLemon's 'Earth's Music' Blanket. The African Flower pattern. The Blanket was so colourful and I don't think they had seen the pattern before. I have promised to send it on to them. Also 'Cotton Candy' made and donated by Gill. But to be honest they looked at quite a few of the Blankets and they loved them all. I was so proud of each and everyone of you. The Blankets were all so beautiful. Laid out on the table in the centre of the room they really did look a picture and were admired by everyone. Along with the Sunshine Blankets I took in half of the Knitted Christmas Gift items. Everything was so well received by the Home. So a big thank you!
Olivet have quite a few sister Homes and the Blankets today were actually going to be given to their Homes at Mumbles and Southport. As I was saying to Jane I'm really pleased about this because it's a way we can get our Blankets further afield. I have promised to go back with more for their other Homes because I know in the New Year we will receive plenty more. It's really surprising how they come in.
I would like to thank each and everyone of you who have supported the 'SIBOL' project this year. It is extremely kind of you and I can assure you that our work has been very much appreciated by Olivet in Birmingham. Everyone said thank you for going in and they all said how much they loved your beautiful Blankets!
I shall be going out next week with the remaining items I have here. I think that's all for now.
Thanks for visiting today!

I went and sat by the Ladies and looked at their work. Each telling me what they were making either little Jumpers, Scarves or Blankets in strips. The yarn they were using was really colourful and of course we had chats about the good old days when we had the old fashioned wool shops!

Goodies from Singapore!
Good Morning and welcome!
I would like to thank 'PinkLemons' today. She has very kindly sent me a beautiful, beautiful Sunshine Blanket all the way from Singapore! Just take a look at this gorgeous piece of work! The Blanket is called 'Earth's Music'. Here's the LINK to her RAVELRY page.
'PinkLemons' has named the Blanket 'Earth's Music' after a poem by Edwin Curran, which reads,
'Flowers are the music of the ground
From earth's lips spoken without sound'.
Decorated with Ribbon and a Butterfly this surely is going to be loved by one of the Residents.
Certainly bringing a smile to their face.
Just look at all that colour and such pretty Flowers.
Made so neatly.....
Not only did 'PinkLemons' make a Blanket she also made a Shawl.
If you want to read all about the making of the Shawl please pop over to her RAVELRY page. Here's the LINK. The pattern is 'Venus Tips Up with shoulder shaping' by Diane Conroy.
Superb 'PinkLemons!' A Hat too for our Christmas Gift appeal.
You are so terribly kind thank you so much for making these beautiful items and donating them to 'SIBOL'.
I will be taking these out as soon as possible. Your kind words about our project are very much appreciated 'PinkLemons' thank you so much. I also loved your little cards which were attached a great idea.
An exciting day here today! Thank you for visiting!

Saturday's post!
Good Afternoon and welcome!
Well I've had two more parcels arrive this morning. I would like to thank Sally and GillyLilly over on RAVELRY.
Sally has very kindly assembled Squares from Irene & Co. A beautiful Sunshine Blanket and a Scarf for our Christmas Gift appeal. A great way to use those 'rectangle' shapes Sally and I love the flowers you have made for the Scarf. I love the pockets too a great idea.
Let's take a look now.
A Sunshine Blanket too!
Thanks so much for your help once again Sally. Another Blanket for our pile! :)
Next we have two Shawls made by GillyLilly over on RAVELRY.
These are so pretty!
Beautiful colours in these Shawls GillyLilly!
Someone is going to love this Shawl!
Then we have.....
Wow! Aren't they gorgeous! They must have taken you ages GillyLilly! Thank you so much
for making and donating them to our 'SIBOL' project.
I can't wait to give out our Sunshine Blankets on the 28th with half of our Christmas Gifts. We've been so...successful this year once again. Turning over our 900th Blanket is such an achievement. What shall we do to celebrate our 1,000th! I think some sort of celebration is in order. Anyone have any ideas? sueatpigsty@talktalk.net if you do! I shall also be visiting another Home to give out our Shawls and the other half of the Christmas Gifts. I thought it only fair to divide what's come in.
I think that's all for today!
Thanks so much for following our Blog.

'Sunshine Blankets' and 'Shawls' arrive at HQ Thank you!
Good Morning to you all!
I would like to thank 'Ginnyknit' for sending in four Sunshine Blankets today. The Squares were sent to 'Ginnyknit' from Linda of 'Chalky's World'. 'Ginnyknit' has made a superb job of putting the Squares together and I'm sure you will agree they are going to be loved by Residents in the Homes.
We have two Christmasy Blankets amongst them which is a nice change especially for this time of year I can't wait to show you.
Decorated with the usual Ribbon and Butterflies they are going to be lovely Gifts for the Residents.
I am in need of spare Ribbons Ladies so if anyone has any on Christmas presents this year that they
can't find a use for would you consider sending to me for the 'SIBOL' project please? There are very often Ribbons on bales of Towels, Chocolates and other Gifts that we could find a use for.
Butterflies are always useful too so if you want to Crochet any please feel free to send them. I will give you the Link over to Nettie's Blog in Australia. I warn you these Butterflies are very addictive and once you have mastered one you will probably want to do more. Any colour, any size would be perfect thank you so much.
These Blankets are superb!
Thank you so much 'Ginnyknit'.
Now 'Ginnyknit' has introduced her friend Jill to our 'SIBOL' project and this morning I have
received some beautiful Shawls from her. These three Shawls have been made so beautifully and they will be very useful indeed for Residents in a Care Home. I have actually counted the ones upstairs this morning and with these three I now have 24! It's really surprising how quickly they add up. I can assure you the Residents are loving them in the Homes and I'm grateful to you Jill and everyone else for making them.
I hope you like the photos Jill many thanks.
Absolutely gorgeous thank you Jill.
What an exciting day again today!
Thank you both for your 'SIBOL' donations and for following the 'SIBOL' Blog too!
If anyone else has items for 'SIBOL' please could you let me know by email that they are on their way. My deadline date is end of November now. We will start again in the New Year thanks so much.
