My very last Delivery today. Thanks to everyone! 1424 Sunshine Blankets.

Hi everyone,

Last delivery of SIBOL Blankets 2017. To Sir Josiah Mason Trust, Mason House, Solihull.

Last delivery of SIBOL Blankets 2017.

I am pleased to say that this morning I have now delivered the remaining Sunshine Blankets that I have here at home. 51 Sunshine Blankets and 11 Shawls.

The items were donated to The Sir Josiah Mason Trust, Mason House, Shirley, Solihull.  I was very pleased to meet Jackie Whyte who accepted the donations from me.  She would like me to thank everyone very much, she loved the Blankets and said how useful they will be.

Well as I have said many times before the project has been running since January 2010 and I feel it's the right time to stop now. I am running out of Homes to visit in my immediate area without me travelling to other parts which I don't really want to do. I don't seem to have enough hours in  the day either to devote the time that I should.  I hope everyone understands.

Without your help over the years we wouldn't have achieved the fantastic total of 1424
and I would like to thank Ladies in the UK and in fact all over the World for thinking of others.
Your kindness has been appreciated very much indeed.

I am still available for any enquiries about the project, so please feel free to contact me
on
sueatpigsty@virginmedia.com

I am sorry I can't share any Blanket photos today my computer is playing up.

Thank you

Sue xx

SIBOL is ending!

Good morning,

This beautiful Sunshine Blanket was sent to me by Anne Clark LSA  at Peterston Super Ely Primary School, South  Wales.

The Blanket was crocheted by previous Year 6 children. Georgina, Clare, Tegan, Lily, Meghan, Ollie and Madelaine. They all really enjoyed making it.

I will be passing this on to a Care Home thank you so much. It's gorgeous.

I love this Ripple Blanket, great colours many thanks for your donations.

Thank you Kate

Please Note!

I think it is the right time to end the SIBOL Project which was started in Memory of my Grandmother.   I am finding it harder now to find new Homes without going further afield. I will however deliver the Blankets I have here at Home on your behalf.

Over the years we have had many themes and the Blankets and Squares that arrived at my Home have been beautiful. We have also raised money for various Charities which is fantastic.

I have met so many wonderful friends from all over the World  and I still can't believe how this idea to make half  a dozen Blankets for the Elderly grew into a total of  1407 ! We have made so many Ladies and Gents happy so a massive thank you to all of them.

I have posted on this Blog since 2010 and have done my best to publish photos of your Squares and Blankets as they have come in. It has been an absolute joy to work with you all.

                                                            Thanks for the donations today!

Bright and Cheerful.

Good afternoon,

I would like to thank Rachel today for a beautiful Sunshine Blanket  received for an Elderly person.

Rachel has been interested in SIBOL for many years and even took part in our Olympic Blanket many moons ago. Her work is so lovely and it's the interest she took in our Group that really touched my heart.  She made her first SIBOL squares 5 or 6 years go for the Olympic Blanket and she is 20 years old now! So she has been following us for a long time.

Her letter today was very nice. Thanking me for the time and effort spent with the project I really appreciated her very kind words. So it is with sadness and joy that she sends her very last Blanket.

Saturday's donations.

Good afternoon,

I've had some beautiful Sunshine Blankets arrive this week and I hope you enjoy looking at them.

The first one is from 'Annetjehh' over in the Netherlands. How kind of you to make and donate the Blanket called 'To Father's Cabin'.

"The song of Amorphis kept popping up in my head while working on it and the blanket reminds me of a cabin of a boat so I think it is suitable for a gent." Annetjehh tells me in her email.

I'm sure you will agree it's going to be a very warm Blanket which I know is very soft and a gent in one of our Care Homes is going to find it very useful indeed.

Thank you so much for sending all this way Annejehh it's very kind of you.

Thank you Anne - Netherlands   -   To Fathers Cabin.
