What's new today?

Good morning and welcome to our SIBOL Blog,

Throughout the year we have been very busy making Sunshine Blankets and Shawls for Residents in Care Homes mainly in the Birmingham area. I'm very pleased to be telling you that a few Ladies in our SIBOL group have taken on the task of assembling Blankets in the SIBOL name and arranging delivery near to where they live. This is fantastic because it means that our Blankets can reach other parts of the UK. BigBlue over on (RAV) is one of these Ladies.

Over the past few months she has been collecting Squares and has assembled some stunning Blankets and it is my pleasure today to be showcasing more of her work.

Let's take a look now.

The first one is called 'Berrylicious'.

The second is called 'Creme Caramel'.

The third is 'Parma Violets'.

BigBlue thank you so much for collecting the Squares on behalf of SIBOL and assembling them. You have made a fantastic job of putting them together. I'm really grateful to you. I would also like to thank everyone for sending in Squares to BigBlue. The Blankets are really interesting and I know the Residents in Homes are really going to appreciate them especially as the weather is starting to change now.

brownie47 has also spent time making a Blanket for SIBOL. I'm sure you are going to love this one too. It's called 'Blue Lagoon' and once again a stunning Blanket.

Married with Twin Daughters.

I live in the UK.

With the help of my on-line friends we

are making and donating Sunshine Blankets

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Please Note.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
