Squares from the UK today!

Good Evening Everyone!

Today I have had two lots of Squares come in from the UK.

First of all I would like to show you this cute little Piggy Square  that has come in from Bonsall.  Bonsall has sent it in for the 'Farmyard' Challenge which runs until the end of April.  It's just so....cute!!!

 

Bonsall also sent in some more Squares which are in her Slide Show.  Thank you so much Bonsall! I love all of them.

Secondly, I would like to welcome 'Lesley  a new 'SIBOLETTE!. ' Lesley has very kindly sent in some Knitted Squares which have lovely patterns and are in great colours!   I'm so pleased you enjoyed making the Squares thank you so much!

Squares from the UK for our New Challenges!

Good Evening Everyone!

Slightly late today, sorry.......

Well today I have received two Squares for our new Challenges.  They have both arrived from 'Charlotte' 'Sharky Knows'.

As you probably know I have put some new Challenges out this week on SIBOL CHALLENGES and I'm absolutely amazed because today I have rcceived Squares for a couple of these Challenges. The first one is a most beautiful Square for the Jan Eaton Challenge. This one is No. 69 and it's called 'Fudge'.  I love the colours Charlotte has chosen. I'm sure you will want to have a look!

The other one has come in from Charlotte once again and this is for our Winter Wonderland' Challenge. I am requesting  Squares made out of 'white yarn' any pattern of your choosing.  I'm sure everyone has  a bit of white in their stash!

Well Charlotte you were definitely on the ball, making and sending out so...quickly! Thanks so much. I really love both of the Squares, but I'm sure you will agree the first one is just so delightful! Lovely Spring colours....

Squares from the UK for our Farmyard Challenge! / New Challenges.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Welcome to 'SIBOL!'.  I'm so pleased you are paying me a visit today because I want to show you some beautiful Squares which arrived today from Laura in the UK.  Laura has very kindly sent me some Squares before and today I received two Squares for our 'Farmyard' Challenge.  This Challenge along with the 'Spring' Challenge is  running until the end of April, so if you want to have a go there is still a bit of time.

Laura sent me one of my favourite farmyard animals, clue.....oink!! oink!!  Just look at Laura's cute Square!



Isn't it just so lovely?  I'm glad we are going to have some pigs on our Farmyard Blanket. I've got about 500 here at 'Two Times!', I just love them!

The other Square she sent was a Farmyard tractor, just take a look at this one....



Well I'm sure you will agree they are superb Squares! I do hope you have enjoyed making them Laura thank you for sending them for our Challenge! I absolutely love both of them!



I'm very happy to know that you think the new Challenges are okay.  It's always difficult knowing which Challenges to put up, and I'm grateful for emails telling me that they are good choices!.  When deciding on Challenges, I have to take into account what I have in my Square stash, so that I don't have too many of
a certain colour.

We've hit the Big 60! Two Ta-Dah's and Squares from the UK!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Well today we have hit the Big 60! Well actually it's 61 because today we have a double Ta - Dah!
Before I show you the latest 'Sunshine Blankets' I would like to thank everyone who has very kindly sent me in Squares for SIBOL.  Without the help of you lovely Ladies I wouldn't be able to do what we are doing making Blankets for the Elderly in the UK! We have now assembled 61 'Sunshine Blankets' totalling  1,525 Squares.  It's absolutely amazing to think that we have made this many when my initial idea was to make 6!  So thank you to everyone that has sent me Squares I am most grateful to you!

It's always such a pleasure to receive your Squares and I'm just so pleased that you are interested in SIBOL!

Well yesterday I had a box arrive from the States.  Ooh, yes a great book on Crocheted borders, but what's underneath? You'll have to wait a few minutes to find out. But first.....



......... you'll be very pleased to know that the second Jan Eaton Blanket is now finished. Thank you so much for taking part in this Challenge. For this Challenge I asked everyone who visits SIBOL if they would like to choose a Block from the Jan Eaton 200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws and Afghans, numbers 26 - 50.  We have already assembled a Blanket using the first 25 Squares from her book. The Squares came in over the last three months and it's been a joy to make a Blanket using them.

First of all I will show you Jan Eaton 1.  Numbers 1 to 25.



and here is Number 2. Numbers 26 to 50.



The Squares have been made beautifully and I didn't stipulate what colours to use, I just left it to you. I think they all go together really well! So thank you very much!

Now for this box.......  I have 'SIBOLETTES' all over the World as far as Australia and the States. It's amazing when you think how far their Squares  actually have to travel to get to my home. But on occasions they travel a bit further. Months ago Kate 'The Garden Bell' and myself were chatting about making the Blankets up and because I was setting 'SIBOL' up I never got round to it before.  But a couple of months ago I parcelled 25 Purple Squares up and sent them over to Kate. So........yesterday her box arrived.  Inside was a lovely book on Borders  but what did I find underneath?



Yes Kate had sent her 'Sunshine Blanket' back all finished, beautifully tied up with a ribbon and she had crocheted a flower too. She really has made a great job of the Blanket and I'm very pleased to receive it back after quite a 'traumatic journey!'.  I thought the Squares were never going to arrive in the States, I think it took nearly 4 weeks!



So thank you Kate and I hope you enjoyed your own Challenge!

This morning I had three Squares arrive from crochet3love here in the UK!  crochet3love had made three Squares with a tropical island in mind.  Ooh, wouldn't that be nice to fly  off somewhere hot and laze about drinking cocktails all day long.  She's suggesting we do a ' Tropical theme'. Would you be interested? I think it's a fantastic idea.  So over the next few days I will be officially announcing a Tropical theme and also the third Blanket using the Jan Eaton Squares 51 to 75. 

I would love you to take a look at crochet3loves' Squares, they are simply beautiful.

Squares from the UK!

Hello Everyone!

I've had some pretty Squares arrive this morning from jody22 (RAV). She has sent me some Flower Squares and they are just so lovely. Flower Squares are my absolute favourite and I know for a fact the
Elderly in the Nursing Homes just love looking at the different Flowers!

Squares for our Spring Challenge arrive from Canada!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

It's always lovely to welcome new 'SIBOLETTES!'. misscitah has now joined our 'SIBOL' Group and
I'm very pleased to be showing you some Squares that have come all the way from Canada today. misscitah (RAV) has very kindly sent them for our 'Spring Challenge' which has to end, at the end of April.  So if you haven't got your Squares in there is still a bit of time.  We've had some lovely ideas for this Challenge (as we always do I have to add) and it's just so lovely to see what you come up with   There is something about these 'picture Squares' that we make for SIBOL.  It definitely makes you use your imagination!

One of these Squares is my absolute favourite, I just love this Ladybird! I expect you want to see!

Blanket wise....I'm just doing the final rows on the border on the second 'Jan Eaton' Blanket. So it won't be long before I have a Ta - Dah! Then perhaps we will announce the next part of the Jan Eaton Challenge which will be Blocks 51 to 75.

I'm very pleased to be telling you also that our Royal Wedding Blanket has safely arrived at it's destination and it has been received very well. Great British Yarns tell me they were 'thrilled' to receive it and it was very much apreciated.  So thank you Ladies!  I'll be keeping you posted. Thanks everyone!

Squares arrive from the USA and UK today!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I have lots of new Squares to show you  today but first of all  may I thank you for the great emails I receive from you.  It really makes my day when you write and tell me how worthwhile you think our 'SIBOL' project is and how much you enjoy looking at the different Squares and indeed the 'Sunshine Blankets' when they are made up.  Your comments too about the 'SIBOL' web-site are very much appreciated! So thank you!

It's always nice to welcome new visitors and indeed new 'SIBOLETTES!'.

Well some really nice Squares have arrived today.  First of all I want to show you the last Jan Eaton Square to arrive. This is No. 50 'Seminole'. This is such a nice Square and I'm really pleased it's arrived because now I can finish the 'Jan Eaton' Blanket off. So thank you very much Tracy I really do appreciate your help. I love the colours in the Square and I love the pattern.



I have also had some pretty Squares arrive from the States today. Devilwmn (RAV) has very kindly sent me these gorgeous Squares. The yarn is just lovely. The colours and patterns are nice too!

Last but not least, are some lovely Knitted Squares from Melanie in the UK. Melanie is in the 'same line of business' as myself  you might say! 'Making Blankets!'.  Would you like to pop over to her blog? She too is always in need of Knitted Squares to help her with various projects.  She makes lovely Baby Blankets and sends Blankets out to Gambia and other worthwhile causes also.  She has sent me such a lot of Squares although they are smaller than what I normally use I have plans for them! They are all in lovely colours and I appreciate them Melanie thank you! I've also made you a Slide Show Melanie, sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy looking at your Squares.

Grannies from the UK!

Hello Everyone!! !

Well thanks so much for all the great comments on Flickr and the website with regard to the Royal Wedding Blanket. I'm so pleased you liked it.  We certainly had lots of fun on this Challenge!  Thank you all so much for the great variety of Squares I loved everyone and it was such  a treat receiving them.



If you click on the Blanket you can see who made them and for all the Ladies who haven't used 'add note' on Flickr please use the option and add your name to the Square you made!

Today I would like to show you some pretty Granny Squares that I have received from Anne in the UK.  She has sent me 20 Squares and they are just the prettiest colours.  They really are a treat! Thank you so much Anne I love them.

I have to say thanks to everyone that has contributed the most beautiful Squares especially for our  'Royal Wedding'  Blanket. I've had a ball  making these Squares up. It was such an enjoyable Challenge!

I  received such a variety of Squares and it was just so...interesting to see what you all came up with. We've had  Doves, Wedding Bells, Hearts, Westminster Abbey, Hearts, Initials to name a few. It always amazes me that when I put a Challenge out to you, you take everything on board and really use your imagination! The Squares have arrived from all over the World, as far as the States and Canada, Europe and Australia! Lots of places in between Belgium, France, the Netherlands. Simply wonderful how we have all come together for this marvellous Challenge.  The power of the internet!
