Shawls from Rachel.

Good morning,

Yesterday I received two Shawls from Rachel which are both beautifully made. I am always very grateful to you for taking part in our SIBOL project and it's always lovely to receive a letter from you too. I'm so pleased you have  a 'Knitting hotline' with your Gran it's lovely you have something in common to share.

Rachel has made two Crocheted Shawls, one Red, White and Pink 'a love theme' and the other a Black one made in Sparkly yarn both beautiful pieces of work.

Thank you so much Rachel I will be writing soon to you.

I will make sure the Shawls will be taken out as soon as possible.

I am thanking Sally today for two super Sunshine Blankets she has made for Residents in Care Homes.  A great size to use on laps and the Blankets are so cheerful!.

I just love the colours used in these Blankets and I shall be visiting a Home when I have more.

New donations for the SIBOL Project.

Good morning,

I would like to thank Mrs J Carney for her beautiful Knitted Blanket received for the 'SIBOL' project.
This is a wonderful donation. A great size and such pretty Squares. Thank you so much.

Today I received 4 Sunshine Blankets from Janet down in Devon. I am so pleased you have also come across our project and your Blankets will also be passed on as soon as possible. Colours and Squares are so bright and cheerful and a great way of using your Squares.

A SIBOL Delivery to Broomfield Hospital.

Good morning and welcome,

I have delivered such a lot of Sunshine Blankets to Care homes in the Birmingham area over the years that I am trying to encourage new Ladies to make and donate nearer to their own homes. Susan has taken me up on this Challenge. Yesterday she emailed me to tell me about her visit, I thought you'd be interested to read how she got on.

" I took the blankets and shawls to Broomfield today. I had telephoned before my visit, and the ward Clark on the dementia ward was expecting me. She paged Julie the Dementia Nurse Specialist who wanted to come and meet me. Both she and the ward Clark we're delighted with all the blankets and shawls.
It was lovely to meet Julie as I had only spoken to her on the phone. She left two items with Baddow ward, and kept the rest to share around the hospital. She told me that giving one of my previous blankets to one lady had had a marked effect on her mood. She said it was lovely to see the change in her expression as she was given the blanket, and staff had said how much pleasure it had given her when Julie had followed up a few days later.
So here's to the next batch. I'm aiming on brighter colours, and textures. As well as the more simple Granny square patterns."

Susan this is a wonderful result I'm so pleased that everything went well.
Your Shawls and Sunshine Blankets were made beautifully and I'm sure your visit will be a talking point for many days to come.

Beautiful Colours.

Good Morning,

I would just like to thank Orange Zoo over on Flickr for a very generous donation of yarn received today. I shall be making a Blanket with these beautiful colours for SIBOL.

I'm so pleased you have found a home for your un-wanted stash. We all have phases of crafting and at the moment Orange Zoo is sewing lots of beautiful items to raise money for animal charities here in the UK.

I would like to show you some beautiful Shawls and Sunshine Blankets that Susan has made. She is taking them into Broomfield Hospital which is only a bus ride away from where she lives. This is a great way of getting our work further afield.

Delivery Day!

Good afternoon,

I'm just letting you know that I had a ride out to The Foundation of Lady Katherine Leveson Care Home this morning. Situated at Temple Balsall, Knowle, Solihull this certainly is a  beautiful Home. Here's the LINK.  Some of our work has been donated there before and Sharon in the office was very grateful for our Blankets and Shawls this morning.

I'm sorry I couldn't take photographs today. It simply was a matter of dropping the donations in to the Office. If you'd like to see what I delivered here's a photo I took yesterday.

I have received Sunshine Blankets and Shawls from Isrose in Norway today.

The Sunshine Blankets are perfect sizes and colours and decorated with our beautiful 'SIBOL' Butterflies and Ribbon these are going to be lovely gifts for Residents in Care Homes.

These two Granny Blankets are called 'Grass roots' and 'Ocean Breeze'.

Four really pretty Shawls too. You are so very kind.
I am so pleased they have arrived safely and I will add them to my collection.

Tickled Pink.

As you can see I have had another Sunshine Blanket arrive for our 'SIBOL' project. This one is called 'Tickled Pink' and it has been made and donated by uomalley.  Here is Una's Blog  if you would like to read more about the Blanket that she has made for us.

Delivery to Broomfield Hospital.

Good afternoon,

Just an up-date for you today. I would like to thank Susan for taking in three beautiful Sunshine Blankets to Broomfield Hospital. Susan very kindly made 'Purple Heather', 'Granny's Garden' and 'Vanilla Sundae' and gave them in on behalf of our group 'SIBOL'.

Susan tells me in her email that she delivered the blankets to the Baddow Ward where they have been distributed to three patients. The Dementia Care Nurse thanked Susan for her help and said the patients responded very well to the bright colours and textures.

I'm really grateful to you Susan thank you. If anyone else would like to deliver their blankets near to where they live please contact me. I will send you a 'pdf' label which you can attach to your work. This is a great way of getting our blankets and shawls further afield.

A new delivery of Sunshine Blankets and Shawls arriving today.

Good afternoon,

On arriving back from a day out with Mr. Twins I found a parcel left in my porch. Lisa has very kindly sent me three Sunshine Blankets and two pretty Shawls.

Shawls are extremely useful for Residents in Care Homes they certainly take the chills off. I often sit at home with one of my own around my shoulders so I know how comforting they can be.
