Easy slippers

I absolutly love these slippers. They only took about 4 hours to make and less than 1 skein of yarn! I had so much fun making these.

Squares arrive from Spain and the UK.

Hello Everyone!

Thanks so much for visiting SIBOL today!  Welcome to all our New Followers! It's lovely having you over.

Well we've had Bank Holiday here in the UK so it's been a long weekend for us all. I hope you all had a good time.

Few things to chat about before I show you the gorgeous Squares received today.

Going back to the 'Childrens' Squares'. Remember the problem with 'Health and Safety' in the UK. Well we have decided to keep those Squares and make  a 'Young at Heart' Blanket for the Elderly.  But this will be saved until 2011. So I won't be posting anymore details about it on the Side Bar just yet.

I must thank everyone for the fantastic list of names for the last 'Blue and White' Blanket.  We decided on 'BlueBelle'. This was chosen twice. Thank you RaggedieAnne and papillongold! Now we still have 'Blue and White' Blankets coming up I think another 3, so we can use some of those names.

Thank you so much  everyone for the wonderful comments I receive by email. I'm so pleased you like the Blankets and saying too  how much you  are enjoying seeing all the latest Squares! It's such a pleasure to meet you all. Aishwarya (arien156) over on Flickr enjoys making Squares for SIBOL and during the last few days she has put together her own SIBOL Gallery of her own Squares she has made.  Now would you like to take a look? She has given me permission to link you. I hope you will pay her a visit. They are gorgeous Squares and I'm happy you are enjoying SIBOL Aishwarya! Thank you.

I'm so pleased too when you ask for invites to 'team blog' on SIBOL with us. It's so nice to have new Friends on here with us. If you would like to 'team blog' with us, please email me. sueatpigsty@taktalk.net

I have finished the third 'Blue and White' Blanket but I just have to sort those dreaded ends out! OOh! make the Butterflies too! So I'm hoping tomorrow or Thursday I will have a Ta - Dah for you. I could have finished it yesterday but I had to help Mr. Twins out in the Garden.  We've had the family around too at the weekend  so it's been difficult to sit down.  Then today I've been trying to get myself straight after the weekend.

Please don't forget to pop over to SIBOL - The Archive This is a special place where we post details of patterns used for SIBOL Squares.  If you fancy posting information about a Square you have made for SIBOL please email me for an invite. You'll be most welcome over there. sueatpigsty@talktalk.net

We also have a special group over on Flickr for our Blankets. This is where our SIBOLETTES post their own photographs of Squares made for SIBOL. Wanna take a look? Follow the link!

The 'Mens' Challenge and also the 'Sea/Seaside' ones finish today. But......if you have Squares still in the pipeline for these or are on their way,  please don't worry. I will wait. I am busy still doing the other Challenges, so you have plenty of time. I would like to thank you all for the gorgeous Selection of Squares received for these Challenges.

Now to get to business........ A certain Lady in Spain 'Pilar' (pertinitaco Flickr) has been busy again, Crocheting away for SIBOL! She has made the most gorgeous Mens' Squares. I want you to take a look at these. They are in such warm colours and it just goes to show how you can combine a variety of Colours. These Squares will be perfect for our Men's Blankets and I know for a fact our SIBOL Mens' Blankets will 'not be boring or dull!'.  Pilar has made three lovely 'Sea' Squares too. Just take a look at her ideas. I'm sure you will like them!

Thanks so much Pilar for your continued support I am so pleased you are still 'getting pleasure' from SIBOL!

Now I have to show you some beautiful Knitted  Squares from 'Sockknitter' on the MSE Knitting Forum. She has sent me some really bright wacky Squares and I just love them. I'm so pleased you have taken part in our project 'Sockknitter'. We are having such fun over here.  I have made you a Slide Show so please take a look. Many thanks for your contribution, it's very nice of you.

I'm sorry if I have been babbling on a bit today, a lot to tell you!

Have a good evening everyone!

Ta - Dah! Introducing SIBOL No. 26 'Blue and White' theme 2.

Good Evening Everyone!

Its' 10.40pm Saturday evening. I know I am good aren't I? Doing SIBOL work on a Saturday evening! I just had to load up my photos on Flickr and make you a Slide Show because today I finished SIBOL No. 26! We've just got back from our favourite Curry house and I thought I'd post this before bed for you.

Well I have to say I have  had such a lot of fun once again making this Blanket.  Your Squares are just so delightful to work with. They really are  a pleasure and I enjoy it so much.  This Blanket doesn't look much
different to the last one.  I have been using some white yarn which I have plenty of, but the special thing about this one is the edging was crocheted with home-dyed yarn from The Garden Bell.  Thank you so much
Kate for the donation of yarn it is so nice to work with and the colours were spot on!

I went outside just after Mr. Twins cut the grass today. The Garden is looking much tidier now even though my Flowers have gone off now, which is a real shame. I planted up some pink tulips today in my Dads' wheelbarrow and my Grandmothers old metal bowl which I now use for planters. So I'm hopefully going to get something to show you in the Spring.

Here's my Slide Show, sit back and enjoy the latest Blanket. Thank you so much for the wonderful Squares I really do appreciate each one!

I would like to thank all our new Followers, it's such  a pleasure to have you on board! Enjoy your Weekend everyone!

Squares from the UK!

Hello Everyone!

I'm very pleased to show you some Squares that have arrived today, both sets from the UK.

First of all we have Margarets' Squares. Margaret has sent me some pretty Granny Squares. Just look at the lovely colours and can you see the special one?  Margaret has sent a Square for our 'Christmas Challenge'. A Granny Square with a Christmas tree on the front made out of trebles.  I just love it. Want to have a go?
Please see our Side Bar for the Challenge details.

Margaret here's your Slide Show and thank you very much!

Beautiful - Thank You Margaret!

The other set of Squares I received today are from Linda . They are so....pretty! Many thanks Linda. I love the combination of Colours you have used.  Linda has a lovely way of attaching a little yarn, I can always tell they are her Squares! She also sent me a home-made card in with the Squares such an unusual idea. I do hope you will pop over and check her blog out, she also does such a lot of work for Charity.

I've made you a Slide Show Linda, unfortunately it's inside because it's tipping down outside! I hope you enjoy your Slide Show.

Many thanks Linda and Margaret, very nice of both of you.

I'm off now to Crochet, have a good day everyone!

                                                              Thank You Lauren!

I am really happy to tell you that I had two lots of Squares arrive today from Australia.  The first set are from
Jenni  in Queensland, Australia.  These colours are similar to Joyces' Squares received the other day. They are simply lovely for our Mens' Blankets.  I am ever so pleased you have taken part Jenni in our SIBOL project and I  am glad you have enjoyed making them for the Elderly.

Here's your Slide Show Jenni!

Squares arrive from Canada and the Netherlands today!

Hello Everyone!

Thank you all for your comments on SIBOL No. 25!  If you haven't seen the latest SIBOL please go back a post.  I need a name, any ideas? The last Flower Blanket was called 'Kensington Gardens' - named by The Garden Bell. Thank you Kate.

I hope you have all had a good weekend.  Back to Squares today.  I am very happy to say Glorias' Squares arrived today all the way from Canada.  Gloria has made the prettiest Squares for our Challenges. I really love them and I'm sure you will too!  Squares for our 'Blue and White' Challenge which are really lovely, and also some for the Men's Challenge.  Some of Glorias' Squares have an Autumny feeling to them I think. I just love the colours she has used in the Brown ones. The Flower Squares are pretty too.  Even though our Flower Challenge has ended don't worry the Squares will be used.   Thank You so much Gloria.

I want you to take a look too at the gorgeous Post Card she very kindly sent me. Such a pretty picture and then Gloria has decorated the picture with tiny little stitches, buttons, bows and thread. Simply gorgeous. Gloria has put her photos on to Flickr if you want to take a look. I'm sure she won't mind you popping across. Thanks so much Gloria.

Gloria, I have made you a Slide Show, sit back and enjoy!

Thank You!

Also today in the same delivery I had some Squares arrive from the Netherlands.  I have told you before
we have Squares come in from all corners of the World! Today is no exception.  Dear Anja from the Netherlands has very kindly sent me these Squares. The colours are wonderful, the pattern too is very interesting!

I bet you want to know what pattern Anja used?......>

I think it's really lovely.  I have asked Anja if she wants to tell us where she got the pattern from and whether she'd be interested in posting a Square on to SIBOL - The Archive for us so that other's can have  go.  This is our other SIBOL Blog! Anja has a lovely Blog I do hope you will check it out yourselves.

I'm very pleased to make a Slide Show for you Anja. Thank You so much for the beautiful Squares! I love them.

Thank You both for sending me the Squares today, it's been a pleasure to make the Slide Shows for you and I can't wait to put your Squares into SIBOL Blankets!

Ta - Dah! Introducing SIBOL No. 25! 'Blue and White' 1/6

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have all had a good weekend.

May I thank everyone today for visiting SIBOL! Our new Followers too! Welcome! It's so nice to have you joining us and I would like to thank you too for enquiring about SIBOL!  I do hope you will pop over to our 'spin-off' blog SIBOL - The Archive.  This is a place where we occasionally post details of the Squares we make.  If you want to try a new pattern out, this might be the place for you to go.  It's early days over there at the moment but we do already have some great posts!  Why not try out a new Square?

I've managed to finish the first of the 'Blue and White' Blankets today. I just had the ends to finish off and make the Butterflies.  Mr. Twins  went to watch the British Touring Cars today so I had a little time to myself 'apart from when I had to cook Sunday lunch for the rest of the Family.'  By the time I had finally finished everything the sun had gone in.  But I've done my best with the photos.  I am so disappointed with my Flowers this year, they have been absolutely beautiful and all of a sudden they have just died a death. I do hope 'The Garden Bells'  Flowers on the table bring me a little colour. Kate sent me some seeds all the way from America and I'm afraid I haven't been too lucky with them. They were doing well but then the slugs felt rather hungry one night and decided to eat them for tea. Also our silly weather in the UK the poor plants haven't known quite what to do. We had that heat for weeks and then the rain....... Oh well I have managed to take some lovely photos over the weeks to show you with the Squares and Blankets so when I'm feeling in need of a bit of a pick me up, I'll have to go back to the Flower Blankets for photos for the Blog Header. It seems like Autumn to me already.  I hate being without colour in the garden.

I'm very pleased to say the first 'Blue and White' theme Blanket is finished.  Thank you to everyone who contributed Squares for this Challenge.  I have enough Squares for 6 Blankets. So now I would like to show you the first Blanket. The Squares are absolutely gorgeous, Thank You So Much!!

Have a good week everyone!

Squares from Austria today and also Spain this afternoon!

Hello Everyone,

The weekend is nearly here.  The weeks seem to fly by. I hope you are all doing something special for the weekend.

Today I am very happy to show you Squares which have arrived this morning from my friend Susanna.  Susanna lives in Austria. Susanna doesn't have a blog as yet, but I do hope one day she decides to make one. She Knits and Crochets beautifully and always makes such a variety of gorgeous items.

Her Squares are going to be great for our Challenges coming up.  One little Square is just perfect for our Sea/Seaside Challenge I just love it. See if you can  find it?  The other Squares will be lovely for our Mens' Blankets, gorgeous colour combinations and great patterns.

Thank you so much Susanna for the Squares it's very nice of you to take part in our project.

Susanna make yourself a coffee, sit back now and enjoy your Slide Show and Thank You!

Did you spot the fish? So cute, I love it. I love them all though.

I had a second post at lunchtime. Squares from Spain! Yes, Miren sent them to me. I am so happy Miren is taking part in our project.  Her Squares are very nice. The Green ones I think will be great for our Men's Blankets. It's so nice to see the variety of Squares everyone is coming up with.  These are simply perfect!
I have had trouble lately taking some nice photos outside because we have had nothing but rain today! But I
popped out quickly to lay them on my bench.

Thank you so much Miren! Here's your Slide Show!
Have a good weekend everyone!

Squares from the UK and France today!

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by.  Welcome to all our New Followers today,  pleased to say hello to you!

May I first of all thank Luna for the great post previously. Please scroll down the page  and see what Luna has been up to. She has made gorgeous Squares for the 'Bonfire Night' Challenge. They are full of 'Explosion' and 'Fireworks' I think.  The colours are just great.  Thank you so much Luna. Luna is one of our 'team bloggers' and I am always so grateful for her support. She also has a wonderful blog herself so please fly over and check it out!

Today I have had two lots of Squares come in. I can't wait to show you them. We've had some great Squares come in for Bonfire Night Challenge and also the Men's Blankets.

I have to say at this point I'm terribly sorry but we have to cancel the 'Children's Picture Square' Blanket. The reason being one of my friends over on Flickr said that she thought Hospitals wouldn't take the Blankets due to our 'UK Health and Safety Regulations'.  I made enquiries after she said with the Childrens' Hospital and this seems to be the case. They have 'Strict Infection Regulations' which they have to keep to.  We could make the Blanket and try and  donate it for Fund-Raising but I really didn't want to go down that route. I'm so sorry to the few Ladies that have made some 'I've wasted your time!'.

To the Ladies who have already donated Childrens' Squares 'would you like them back' or shall I keep them? Or do you have any other idea?

The Challenges listed over on the side bar are the ones currently running.  Now when these Challenges end on the dates given. I shan't be putting any more Challenges up for 2010.  The Challenges will start again in 2011. So fresh ideas would be welcome and I'll make a note of them.  The reason being is come September I think Ladies will be busy with their Christmas Crafting,  making their own Christmas Gifts. I don't know whether they would have time to think about meeting Challenge dates!  But of course if you fancy
still making the odd Square you know I would be ever so grateful. I shall carry on assembling the Blankets and get as many out this year as I can. Unfinished ones will be given out in 2011.

I have six Blue and White Blankets to make up. I have sorted them into piles. They are waiting to be done. I have started on the first batch. They are such pretty Squares and I'm looking forward to seeing our first 'Blue and White' Blanket.  The Flower Blankets came up really nicely I thought. So thank you to everyone who has sent me Blues and Whites!

With out further a do, I want to thank Hazel for the gorgeous Crocheted Squares received this morning. She particularly picked out some yarn which she thought ideal for our 'Bonfire Night' Challenge. Just look at it in the Slide Show. It has such wonderful sparkly bits in it, I love it.  The other two 'Grandad' Squares we call them because of the Men are great too. I love the Colours.  They are absolutely ideal so thank you very much Hazel!  Here's your Slide Show Hazel.  Enjoy!

Lovely Squares weren't they?

Now the other batch of Squares I had come in today were from Lili 4g in France.  She has very kindly sent me Squares for SIBOL before and it's so nice that she is still enjoying our project!   Once again we have some wonderful Squares for Men!  The Colours are just what we need.

So thank you so much!

Wonderful Squares thank you Lili 4g!

Have a good day everyone and thanks again for your support.
