I am writing two posts today so please scroll down there is something I would like you to see. I ordered a Bergere de France catalogue and it's jam packed of wonderful items! It's all free and you also get £10.00 off your first order.
Okay so with your help we have had a mountain of Shawls arrive recently. I can't thank you all enough for your wonderful support. When 'silver surfer' first mentioned it back in January I wondered whether you'd all be interested. But soon after the Shawls started arriving.
Back in May I delivered 10 to The Grove Residential Care Home in Solihull and I promised to go back with another 20 so all of their Residents could have one. Today was the day for me to return.
I emailed them this morning and Jayne - The Deputy Manager kindly replied back saying yes of course we would love them. I arranged to go in at 2.00pm this afternoon.
We have had Shawls arrive from all parts of the country and it's so lovely to see all of the different designs arriving.
Jayne invited me in to the Lounge to meet the Residents. What a lovely home they have! So welcoming. The Residents were sitting in the Lounge some with our Sunshine Blankets draped on their chairs and Jayne started asking some of the Ladies if they would like a Shawl. They also agreed to having their photos taken which is always an added bonus. It's so lovely to see them
modelling them. Let's take a look now.
A Shawl to match this Ladies own Blanket.
If I remember correctly this Lady was 98! Such a happy Lady. She chose Green. The Residents and Staff asked me to thank you all for your kindness they loved them.
As you can see our Shawls were accepted so well. The idea of Shawls has been such a success and if you think you would like to make one then please feel free. We are always in need of them.
I called to get a bit of shopping on the way home afterwards and when I opened my mail up I noticed a mail from Jayne at the Home.
Dear Sue
Thank you so much for the shawls that your group have kindly made and donated to the residents of The Grove Residential Home.
Our ladies in particular will enjoy them as much as your ladies enjoyed making them.
Please pass on our sincere gratitude to all involved.
With kind regards
Jayne Ryley
Deputy Manager
The Grove Residential Home (Solihull)
Thank you so much for mailing me Jayne. It is so nice to know that our work is appreciated and that you will find them useful.
Thanks to you all another successful 'Delivery Day!'
