Great Squares, great ideas, don't you think?

Hello Everyone!

It's always so nice to pop in and show you a new Ta - Dah! But it is especially nice when another Challenge is completed. Yes, that's right over the weekend I managed to start and finish another SIBOL. I am so pleased to be showing you the latest one. I do hope you like it.

May I thank Bev very much for the Crocheted Flowers and Christmas tree she sent middle of October. I am now very pleased to be hanging her Christmas tree on the latest SIBOL. It's Blue can you see it? Also thank you Aussie Maria for the latest name. 'Christmas Spirit'. I think this is an appropriate name because we have some Angels on this blanket.

I have been so amazed at the Squares that came in for this Challenge. You certainly did put your thinking caps on! We have had Snowflakes, Wreaths, Angels, Christmas Trees, Stripes, Grannies, Bells, Christmas Bees, Stockings. You name it, we've probably had it. Such fantastic Squares and it's been a pleasure to make them up for you. They have all been absolutely gorgeous whether they be Knitted or Crocheted. 'Thank You' so much for taking the time and trouble to make them for SIBOL.

I am busy washing the Blankets now, and I aim to deliver our SIBOLS towards the end of November. I shall carry on assembling and see how many I manage to get ready.

I am always so astounded at how amazingly beautiful these blankets turn out to be. The work of so many woven into one gorgeous blanket. Wonderful! Best wishes, Tammy

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
