Squares from Scotland!

Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks for visiting SIBOL today and thanks too for the comments on the last SIBOL Blankets. I had such fun making them.

Today I have received some squares from jenn1feranne (Scotland). I would like you to have a look at these Squares, they are just so pretty.

The first 3 are based on a pattern by K. Ferguson they are called 'Highland Rose'.

'Highland Rose' based on a pattern ny K. Ferguson. These Flower Squares are the prettiest things!

The next 4 called 'Irish Rose' are based on a free pattern by Priscilla Hewitt.

'Irish Rose' based on a free pattern by Priscilla Hewitt. So pretty!

I have a soft spot for Flower Squares. These are simply beautiful. I love all of the colour combinations and the tiny leaves make these such pretty Squares!  jenn1feranne read on our blog that Flower Squares were so popular with the Elderly that she thought she would make some. I am so pleased you did! Thank you so much!

jenn1feranne (Scotland) Your Squares arrived today! Thank you!

I'm sure everyone will love these Squares.

At present I am making a Blanket up with Squares from Corien in the Netherlands. I hope it's not too long before I can show you.

I do hope you will have a good weekend,

Thank you for visiting SIBOL Today!

  7. I tried to find Jenn1feranne in this great big land of blog but I wasn't successful. I, too, would like to pose a question...maybe she'll see it if I leave it here. I had a go at the Priscilla Hewitt Irish Rose square. I know the version here has to be 6 inches - and I love that size. The Hewitt pattern is much larger - and I used an F sized hook. Just wondering what adjustments Jenn1feranne might have made to achieve the 6 inch size. I can see she amended the final three rounds - I think completely omitting the last two rounds of the pattern. Were those the only adjustments? Just love these! Obviously! I'm trying to make them on my own! And to Puppet Lady, I would have to say that this was one of the more challenging squares I've ever attempted! Counting and staying EXACT was oh so important. Definitely not a task in an environment with any interruptions! It took full concentration and a few froggings! After the first one, I think subsequent works will go faster! Not sure that the pattern could be written any differently, but I went through and added a lot of logistical notes for myself - hoping to help in the future.

  8. Hi,

Jennifer aka jenn1feranne here. I have asked Priscilla if we can use my version of her design as she owns the copyright. I'm not a blogger, but am on Ravelry.
