New Challenge Squares and a pretty Blanket!

Good Afternoon to everyone!

Thanks for visiting 'SIBOL' today.

As you know we are in the middle of our Challenges at the moment and I am very pleased to be showing you two Squares which have arrived from Joyce28. Joyce has sent in a gorgeous 'Irish Rose' Square and a perfect 'Olympic Square' too.

'Irish Rose' A very pretty Square, very springlike!

A very pretty Square in great colours, thank you Joyce. Also a wonderful Olympic Square. This one is called 'Weighlifting'. How good is this! Our special Olympic Blanket is going to be great with all these interesting Squares coming in. I am very pleased to be showing you a beautiful Granny Square Blanket which has arrived this lunchtime from 'Ginnyknit'. (UK) Ginnyknit has taken part in one of our 'optional challenges' to make a Blanket herself and donate to 'SIBOL'. If you would like to take part please follow the link to our Challenge Blog.

The Squares are just so nice, very well co-ordinated and Ginnyknit has put it together so well. This Blanket is going to be very well received by our Elderly folk in Nursing Homes and I am extremely grateful to you. The Butterflies are from our 'Butterfly Stash!'. I found two perfect Butterflies to match Ginnyknits Blanket.
The Butterflies were made by jean nock. Thank you!

Ginnyknit (UK) Has very kindly made and donated a Blanket to SIBOL.

I would just like to say that if you are interested in making the Butterflies for SIBOL, there is a great video tutorial by Nettie in Australia. If you would like to donate any to SIBOL, these will come in very useful to me. It saves a little time when I am due to showcase them.

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
