SIBOL Squares and a new magazine hits the UK!

Hello Everyone!

I am very pleased to be showing you two sets of beautiful Squares today!

The first one is from Anne here in the UK. She has sent her 'favourite Square' into SIBOL. This Square is called 'Water Lilly' and it is from the Jan Eaton book. I am collecting Squares '25' of them to be exact and they are going to be sent off to 'Inside Crochet' who are going to make a Blanket up apparently with readers' favourite blocks. I have also had in some Squares from kirsty1234 (RAV). Kirsty has sent in some gorgeous Granny Squares made in the most beautiful variegated yarn. There is also a very nice flower Square too! I'm very grateful to you Kirsty for donating these pretty Squares to SIBOL. I have made you a Slide Show sit back and enjoy!

I would like to tell you about a new magazine that has appeared on the shelves in W.H. Smith here in the UK. It's called 'Craft & Click'. It's priced at £7.99 and on a first flick through (Saving that for bed tonight with a nice cup of hot chocolate) it appears to be a really good read. There is a section 'Start Crafting Online', followed by 'Social Networking', 'Advancing Online', 'Essential Know how' about buying a computer etc., Also a section of 'Buying and Selling' which features everything you want to know about 'ETSY, EBAY, PAYPAL etc.,'

'Craft and Click!' A new magazine appears in the UK! Your favourite things 'Crafting and the Internet!'

If you like Crochet, Knitting, Papercraft, Cross Stitch, Sewing and the internet this is the magazine for you!

I'd be happy to obtain one for you and send it on to you where-ever you are in the World! I have a PayPal facility on the SIBOL website, and if you are prepared to pay the cost of the magazine and post and packing I'd be happy to help you out! I use the 'donate' button for SIBOL, but it also comes in handy for things like this.

I'm extremely happy to be telling you that our 'Your Local Landscape' Blanket has arrived in Jersey 'safely' which is good news. If I get any more feedback from the organisers I will let you know.

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
