I would like to start my post by saying a big thank you to everyone who left comments on Flickr, 'Mrs Twins' and 'SIBOL' about 'All Tidy and Cosy!' SIBOL No. 59. I do appreciate your comments and I'm so pleased you liked the latest Blanket.
I have some Royal Wedding Squares to show you today. Pattygloria (Canada) has sent them to the UK, and I'm thrilled to pieces! I just love the Squares she has sent, particularly because they have William and Kate's initials on! I'm sure you will agree they are beautiful. Take a look at these.
Aren't they lovely?
I have started working on the Royal Wedding Squares but I am still waiting for a few Squares to come in from the Netherlands and the UK. I do hope they won't be long now. I'm eager to get on with the Blanket.
With regard to the Jan Eaton Blanket, I am still waiting for one Square to come in from Australia.
Can I remind you we only have a couple of Challenges left now. They are the 'Farm yard' Challenge and also the 'Spring Challenge'. Do take a look at SIBOL CHALLENGES. I'm always happy to receive Flower Squares and Grannies too!
I picked up a copy of 'Simply Knitting' today and inside was a special 'Royal Wedding' supplement. We could have done with this a few weeks ago!
There is a pattern for a Knitted Union Jack inside, a Catherine Middleton 'Bride of the Year' doll, a Tea-pot Cozy, Royal Bunting, Knitted Horseshoe and Chimney Sweep and a Knitted Ring Cushion. All beautiful projects!
I think we've done okay though with our little 'beauties!' Don't you think?
May I thank you all for your kind comments and lovely emails I get. It's so nice that you enjoy our Group, but most of all our Web site! It really makes it all so worthwhile when new Ladies find us and they write to me and say how much they enjoy it. I jump out of my chair with excitement, it's such a good feeling.
I am sure 'Teresa' won't mind me telling you. She lives over in the States and she was so....inspired by SIBOL and the work we do here, that she is asking the Ladies at her Church if they want to start a project similar to SIBOL. Well I can't tell you how over the moon I was when she asked me how I started etc. She's even showing her friends how to crochet, isn't that simply wonderful! I do hope it will be a success for her. I'm sure we all wish her the very best!
I think that's it for now, have a good day everyone! Thanks for popping in to 'SIBOL'.
Just popping back. I sat and made a Square for the Royal Wedding this afternoon.
Not a good photo I'm afraid. I used Craftlon Nylon Craft Ribbon with Craftlon White Eyelet Lace.
You do a foundation row, and then on the next row you crochet through the holes as you go along the next row.
Bye xxxxx
Hi Sue, lovely story.
ReplyDeleteI've just had an idea! How about we make a blanket for the Japan Appeal? We could sell it on eBay or Ravelry? Or somewhere and all the proceeds go to the Japan Appeal?
ReplyDeleteGood idea, trouble is...
ReplyDeleteI have such a lot of work to do here Steph.
Would you like to organise one?
You could collect the Squares on behalf of SIBOL and put them together? Maybe?
or if anyone else? Any offers?
Love Suex
