Hi everyone!
Here's a new blanket for you today!" It has been assembled by Jennifer. I would like to thank everyone for sending in the squares for this particular blanket. They really are lovely and I love the border that Jennifer has made to compliment the squares. The colours really work well together.
Jennifer very kindly offered to make the squares up for me into a blanket and I would like to thank her very much for helping me. Jennifer was telling me that as soon as she spread all the lovely squares out she was transported back to her home town to the gent's outfitters on the main street, so she chose to join the squares with a colour like 'Cavalry Twill' and make the border look a bit like a tie. She felt the colours had a masculine aura.
Well I think you did a splendid job and let's take a look now at the blanket. Thanks Jennifer.
So pretty I love it. Thanks everyone!
Please go back a post and have a read about our deliveries yesterday. Anne and myself had a wonderful time at Christopher Taylor Court and Rowheath House and our 'SIBOL' blankets were just so well received by the Residents.
I do still need squares for our Challenges. Music, Irish Rose, Heart Challenge, Owl Challenge, Faces. If you think you can help please pop over to SIBOL CHALLENGES.
I always need made up blankets too, so if you would like to help SIBOL all details are over on the same blog. Colours suitable for Men or Women! So maybe you would like to use those odd scraps of yarn up!
Or maybe you would like to make Butterflies for our 'SIBOL' blankets. Yesterday at the homes the Ladies loved our Butterflies they were such a talking point! Make them in any scrap yarn you have. I don't want you particularly to go out and buy new yarn for SIBOL. This was never my intention (unless you really want to), but our Butterflies are a good way of using those bits you have in your stash that you dont have a use for. Details are on here a great video tutorial from Nettie in Australia.
Maybe you would like to make one large Granny Blanket using those odd bits up. Our blankets measure 36 to 38" square, so why not have a go!
I can assure you that our Blankets are so well received and I do still want to deliver them to as many homes as we can here in the UK.
Thanks for visiting 'SIBOL' today!
