Squares from Australia and the UK!

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for visiting SIBOL today!

I have two lots of gorgeous Squares that have arrived this morning. The first set is from Moley Makes (UK)
These pretty Squares are for our 'Christmas Challenge'. She has made some Jan Eaton Squares. Thank you!

I'm asking moleymakes if she wants me to use this Square for our 'Jan Eaton' Challenge? Gorgeous No. 25.

The others are 'Snowy Stripes' and 'Christmas Rose'. Aren't they just lovely? Such wonderful Christmas Colours, I love them. I do hope you will check out her blog out.. Thank you so much and here's your own Slide Show!

The other Squares are from Jane in Australia. I just love these Squares she has made for SIBOL. The Butterfly Squares, well Jane wrote the pattern herself and gave permission to 'Knit 4 Charities to use them. The other two Squares are African Flower Squares and No. 16 from 101 Crocheted Squares by Jean Leinhauser. Beautiful colours, beautiful patterns. Thank you so much. I do hope you will pop over to Janes' Blog. She has recently started over there so needs some support! It's very nice of you to make them, thanks so much!

I can see SIBOL Ladies will go crackers for these Butterfly Squares. I wonder if she would allow others to see information about the pattern over on SIBOL - The Archive? We will have to ask her! Hey Sue, i know i may have been stretching the friendship with the "christmas squares" but i decided to do them in a modern, "fresh" style

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Please Note.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
