Saturday Squares!

Good Morning,

Welcome to 'SIBOL'.

I am very happy to be showing you some gorgeous Crocheted Squares which have arrived this morning from Marilyn here in the UK. Marilyn has sent in some really pretty Squares all of different designs. They have all been made beautifully and I can tell she loves her Crocheting! Each Square is different and I'm sure you will agree they are just so.....interesting! Great colours too!

Let's take a look at Marilyns' Squares now.

Marilyn (UK) Your Squares arrived today! Thank you!

Aren't they gorgeous? I have made a Slide Show for you Marilyn!

Created with flickr slideshow.

It's very nice of you to take part in our 'SIBOL' project, thank you Marilyn.

As you know today is the last day for Olympic Squares and this little beauty has arrived just in time! It is from Kathryn here in the UK. Kathryn has been inspired by the Olympics to make this Square. To me it reminds me of the Olympic Flame! What do you think? It has been made in beautiful colours and it has the firey look about it! Thank you so much Kathryn for taking part in our Olympic project.

Kathryn (UK) Inspired by the Olympics! I think it is the Olympic Flame which has inspired her to make this Square. It's gorgeous thank you!

Your Square is one of the last to arrive now for our Olympic Challenge, but I just want you to know it will go in our Blanket hopefully raising money for Alzheimers here in the UK! Thank you!

It's been a busy day for my local Postman today, I found a large parcel in my porch today from Mari and her Craft Group in Inverness-shire, (SCOTLAND).  The Ladies have been very busy indeed making Squares for our 'SIBOL' project. Quite a lot of these Squares will be put into our Olympic Challenge Blanket. Thanks to everyone in the Craft Group that has sent me Squares I am most grateful to you all! They have been made beautifully and I am so pleased that you think our project is worthwhile!

Let's take a look at the Squares now, I have made a Slide Show for you all!

One thing occurred to me while watching Emmerdale on ITV the other evening. Have you ever noticed the Crocheted Blankets on the backs of the chairs in the 'Dingle' family house hold? Well I thought it was time they had one of our 'SIBOL' Blankets. My mind is working over time again and I asking if anyone would like to make a 'Flower Square' for a Blanket which I am proposing to do. I would make the Blanket myself and then send on to the 'Props Department' at Emmerdale. There is no guarantee that it would be used, but I would like to take the chance. I thought it would be a nice change to see something rather than a Granny Blanket!

Are you interested? Please follow the link and put your name down.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at all these gorgeous Squares, many thanks to everyone that has contributed towards 'SIBOL!'

Squares for our Olympic Blanket.

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I am very pleased to be showing you two sets of Squares which have arrived from 'tangled_web' in Pontypridd, Wales.

tangled_web (Wales) Your Squares arrived today! Thank you!

Thank you so much for making these Squares for 'SIBOL' and indeed for writing about our work on your Blog, it really was very nice of you. Please pop over and say hello!

I have received one set of Squares for our Olympic Blanket which will definitely be used and also another set for our 'SIBOL' Stash.  These are Granny Squares but they have really interesting centres. I think my favourite has got to be the green Square with the beautiful white and yellow flower in the centre. You have used some really interesting colours with your Squares 'tangled_web' and I just can't believe you have only been crocheting for around a year!

With the sets of Squares 'tangled_web' very kindly sent me a Flower bookmark, what a sweet thought. I shall treasure this gift, it has been made in  beautiful variegated yarn and I love it. Thanks so much for the Squares and the gift and I am very pleased you enjoyed making the Squares for 'SIBOL'.

A gift of a beautiful bookmark for me, how kind. Thank you tangled_web!

I have made you a Slide Show tangled_web, sit back and enjoy!

An 'Owl' flys in from the USA!

Hello Everyone!

I do hope you are having a pleasant weekend. It's gorgeous here in the UK today. The sun has been shining and it has been so warm which is lovely!

I am very pleased to be showing you a cute little Owl that has flown in from the States today. This Owl Square has been made by Kay and I'm so happy to receive him.  We are making an 'Owl' Blanket and if you would like to join us please visit our Challenge web site. I just love his Orange eyes and yellow beak. I'm afraid this is the best photo I can take today and it has been too sunny (we shouldn't complain).  He is set on a blue and green Granny Square and I think he is just adorable.

Kay (Conyers, GA, USA) 'Owl' Challenge. I bet this little fella is tired after flying all that way! Thank you Kay!

I am so pleased you have taken part in our 'Owl' Challenge Kay and thank you for sending him to me, I am most grateful.

Three new 'SIBOL's and pretty Squares arrive today!

Good Evening  Everyone!

Thank you very much indeed for popping into 'SIBOL' today.  I am very happy to be telling you that I have had three wonderful donated Blankets arrive today. One from Scotland our 'jenniferanne' and the other two from ATheeC (Belgium). I have also received a very pretty 'Irish Rose' Square from Maryann (Saugerties, NY, USA) and Squares also from ATheeC for our Challenges.

I have to say before I go any further, that over the past week my Husband and myself have been decorating the house. We have decorated all the rooms except the three bedrooms which we will do at a later date (he doesn't know yet! :)  As you can imagine when decorating is in progress the house gets rather disrupted. I have boxes in every room and no carpet on the floors!  So my photographs are suffering at the moment and I am unable to take any decent shots. I hope that by the 3rd April I shall be back on track so please bear with me.  I am desperate to showcase the last four Blankets but it's just impossible at the moment. I am going to give you a sneaky peep though and I am sure you will love them.

Let's start now with jenniferannes' donated Blanket. I am always very grateful when one of our Ladies goes the extra mile and makes and donates their very own Blankets. I did actually make this an 'optional Challenge' and if you are interested please follow the Link I am very often asked if Blankets could be made and sent to our Group so I thought I would make it one of our Challenges.  If you are interested then please follow the link and find out the details.

jenniferanne has made and donated a gorgeous Blanket called 'Butterfly Bush'. I had to laugh when jenniferanne sent me a RAV mail because in it she wrote that her Husband has to test each Blanket out. She has made and sent some wonderful Blankets over the past few months and I am extremely grateful to you jenniferanne for all the time you have spent putting them together. As I said this is just a sneaky peep due to the mess I am in!

jenniferanne (Scotland) Has made and donated this beautiful Blanket to our 'SIBOL' Group. Thank you so much!

I am always very interested to find out where 'inspiration comes from' when making a Square or a Blanket and jenniferanne wrote in one of her emails that she took inspiration from her favourite garden shrub 'Buddleia' known as the Butterfly bush most appropriate for 'SIBOL'  she thought! She has made the Blanket in white and shades of purple to represent Buddleias also using soft silvery green the colour of Buddleia leaves. What a lot of thought has gone into this Blanket. As soon as I can take some good photos I will be showing you more of this wonderful Blanket thank you so much jenniferanne! I am most grateful to you and I will be putting your name into our 'Hall of Fame' over on Ravelry.  Two pretty Butterflies also contrast very well with her Blanket. I love it so much! I am sure our Elderly folk will find this Blanket a great deal of comfort.

Well I did tell you I had another two Blankets. These have arrived from ATheeC in Belgium. These Blankets have been made beautifully. The colours in both of these Blankets are stunning and I am sure you will agree they will also be wonderful for our Elderly folk.  One Blanket is wonderful, but receiving two in one box today was just so remarkable!  I also had some fantastic Squares for our Challenges. Let's take a look at them now.

The first Blanket is called ' Forget-me-not'. I love the colours in this one. What a pretty edging on this one!

ATheeC (Belgium) Has made and donated this very pretty Blanket to our 'SIBOL' Group also! Thank you so much!

I just love the tiny flowers in the centre of the Squares. What great colour combinations!

The second one is called 'Galah'.  Such pretty grey, pink and white Granny Squares.
Let's take a look at this one too.

ATheeC (Belgium) Has made and donated this gorgeous Blanket to 'SIBOL'. Thank you so much!

Great joining on these Squares! What wonderful Blankets thank you ATheeC. You too will go into our 'Hall of Fame' over on Ravelry. What an achievement! I am always grateful for one Blanket let alone two! They are such interesting Blankets.

One afternoon her friend Anne came to visit and both Ladies sat down and Crocheted. What a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Anne very kindly made some Squares and donated them to 'SIBOL'. Thank you Anne, I love your Squares.

ATheeC has a friend called Anne. One afternoon they crocheted together! Anne has donated these Squares. Wonderful work thank you so much!

These are very pretty colour combinations and they will be going into my Stash!
Do you know the Nursery Rhyme 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star?' I'm sure you do. ATheeC has made this Square for our Nursery Rhyme Challenge and it's fantastic. What a good idea to enclose the Rhyme too!

'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star! 'Nursery Rhyme' Challenge. Rhyme too what a fantastic idea! Thank you!

I also love this Square 'I'm a Little Teapot!'

'I'm a Little Tea pot!' Do you know this one? 'Nursery Rhyme' Challenge.

Two beautiful 'Wiggles' Squares.

Some very pretty Grannies for our Stash!

I am also very happy to be showing you an 'Irish Rose' Challenge which has arrived from Maryann (NY, USA). This is such a pretty Square and if you would like to have a go at making it then please email me
Sue on sueatpigsty@talktalk.net

Maryann (NY, USA) Your 'Irish Rose' Square arrived today! Thank you!

This is made with a lovely shade of yellow and the green used for the leaves really compliment each other.

Thank you for sending the Square all the way from the States I do appreciate it very much.

Thanks to ATheeC, jenniferanne and Maryann for your wonderful contributions. I do hope you enjoyed making your Squares. It's terribly kind of you and I appreciate them very much.

Where do you live? Pop into 'SIBOL' and claim your Flag!

Hi Everyone!

As you know 'SIBOL' is an international on-line Knitting and Crocheting Group and I thought it would be fun if you popped into 'SIBOL' and had a look at these gorgeous World Flags. They have all been  lovingly made by one Lady in particular 'akarapacha' over on RAVELRY.

She has very kindly made 100 Flags for our Olympic Blanket Challenge to celebrate the Games in London, UK 2012.

Now if you click on to this photo, it will take you across to Flickr. If you then click again and go to 'actions' you will be able to 'add note'. This means you can click and drag a small Square to the Flag of your Country.

Let's have some fun with these beautiful Squares. Let's try and fill the whole lot up! So where-ever you live wouldn't it be marvellous if we could fill the 100 Flags up. You may not have sent me Squares but you have visited our web site for that I am truly grateful.

Here's the 100 Flags now, click on the photo and go over to Flickr photostream.

100 Beautiful Flags from akarapacha! Please 'add note' if you see your Country! :)

I would also like to thank Corien (Netherlands) for her Challenge Squares received today. They are beautiful. Corien I am having trouble accessing my mail and I haven't been able to tell you your Squares have arrived. I do hope you will see this post.

Let's have a look at this cute Owl first.

What a cute Owl too! Thank you so much! They are great Squares!

Now 'Irish Rose' Square, I love this one too, great colours!

'Irish Rose' is so pretty in these colours!

Corien very kindly sent in some Butterflies too!

Corien (Netherlands) Your Challenge Squares arrived today! Thank you!

I love collecting Squares for the Challenge Blankets, I am pleased you have enjoyed making them Corien, thank you so much!

Squares from the UK and the USA!

Good Evening Everyone!

Thank you  for visiting 'SIBOL' today.  First of all may I say hello to all the new Ladies visiting our web site. Over the past week I have had quite a few enquiries because of the article in 'Knit Today' and I would like to welcome you all! It's been lovely chatting with you on emails and I do hope you will enjoy Knitting or Crocheting for 'SIBOL'.

Could I just say if you are new to 'SIBOL' all instructions about sending Squares are over on the SIBOL CHALLENGE web site. The only thing I don't give on there is my address and this is available by emailing me Sue on sueatpigsty@talktalk.net

Please make sure you attach your name, address, email address, RAV name if any, Flickr User Name if any. That would be great.

As a Group we do not have many rules but I would like the Squares as near to 6" as you possibly can please. If you make a Square with a straight edge that would be perfect. Sometimes I receive Squares with wavy edges and it does save me time when I assemble them.

I am very pleased to be showing you another Olympic Square today. This one is made by the Lady who sent me the 100 Flag Crocheted Squares last week. She has very kindly Crocheted me the 'Letter D' for our Olympic Challenge. Her RAV Name is 'akarapacha' and she lives in Fort Myers (USA). So this Square has travelled quite a way!

akarapacha (USA) Your Letter 'D' has arrived for the Olympic Blanket! Thank you so much! It's gorgeous!

Just what I needed thank you akarapacha!

I have also had some beautiful Squares arrive today from Coxabey here in the UK. Coxabey (RAV) has very kindly sent me Squares with great patterns and superb colour combinations! I  love all of them. She also donated some yarn too which was very nice of her.

Coxabey (RAV) Your 'donated yarn and Squares' have arrived today! Thank you!

So are these!

These Colour combinations are perfect Coxabey!

These are so pretty. Look at the centres!

This Square all on it's own too! Brilliant tones of Green!

These are gorgeous Squares, great patterns! Brillaint colours!

I am a little re-stricted taking photos at the moment because where-ever I walk in the house I am treading on lettered 'underlay!' We have been decorating the house from top to bottom and I'm in such a mess! My ornaments are in boxes everywhere, and I am completely out of my routine! I am doing my best to load the photos on to Flickr and the SIBOL web-site but as you can tell 'it's evening again!'.  Still not much more to do.....we have to finish off the 'dreaded gloss' paint tomorrow and then next week the carpets will be delivered so hopefully I will soon be back to normal! Once I am I will be starting to work on the beautiful Flag Squares and other Olympic Squares which have arrived at my home. I can't wait!

These Squares are wonderful Coxabey thank you. It's also very nice of you to donate some yarn to 'SIBOL'.

I am often asked about the Butterflies we hang on our Blankets. If you would like to try making them, my friend Nettie in Australia has a great video tutorial you might like to look at. Please pop over to Netspets!
I often tell her how popular our Butterflies have become. Back in the early days I assembled a Blanket and the Lady who sent me the 25 Squares 'Posy Linda' from the States  said she would like to call the Blanket 'Butterfly' as I had a Butterfly hanging on a Crocheted Chain. Dear Salma over on Flickr then said we should use Butterflies as a type of 'SIBOL' trademark and we have been using them ever since!   I do hope our 'SIBOL' Butterflies always flutter happily!

Thank you once again for popping over to see our new Squares. If there is anything you would like to ask me please feel free to mail me. Sue on sueatpigsty@talktalk.net

Olympic Squares from the Netherlands and here in the UK!

Good Evening to everyone!

Thank you very much for visiting 'SIBOL' this evening. It's very nice of you to pop by!

I have had some lovely Squares from Fiona in the Netherlands to show you this evening. These Squares are for our Olympic Challenge and they are superb!   All beautifully crocheted and once again we have some Flags which I'm really happy about.

The Blue, White and Black Flag is for Botswana.
The White, Green and Orange Flag is the Ivory Coast.
The White and Blue one is the Flag of Israel.

We also have the Letter 'N' for our Olympic Blanket which I desperately needed!

A great 'N' for the Olympic Blanket!

A Slide Show for you Fiona! Thank you so...much! I love all of your Squares and it will be my pleasure to include them in our Olympic Blanket.

Created with flickr slideshow.

I have also received some Squares from a Lady called Alma here in the UK. Alma has very kindly made some Knitted Squares for our Olympic Challenge and these will be wonderful too for our Blanket. I'm wondering whether I should tell you how many Squares I have received now, or should this be a surprise? um..........I think I am going to keep it a little secret for now.  But just a little clue, this Blanket is going to be 'massive!'.......

Alma (UK) Your Squares have arrived thank you!

Alma I have made you a Slide Show for you also! Sit back and enjoy!

Created with flickr slideshow.

Aren't these Squares lovely too!  You have made them beautifully Alma! I am thrilled with the Olympic Squares I have received from Fiona and Alma, many thanks to you both!
I am closing my Olympic Challenge at the end of March. I have had this Challenge running now from last year and I decided a while back that the end of March should be the cut off date. I would like to thank everyone for the Olympic Squares that I have received  but I would just like to say if you still want to Crochet or Knit a 6" Square then please do! I am really hoping that we can raise some serious money for the Alzheimers Society here in the UK.  With your help I know we can do it!

Did you see the Flag Squares from the States? A Lady by the name of Santha from Fort Myers made them. She used a reference book called  Flag Lore of all nations by Whitney Smith and of course the internet to gather information. She had such fun making 100 Flags for the Blanket and I would love you to see them. I am going to do some close up shots for you of her Squares but not at the moment as I am knee deep in paint! We are decorating the house from top to bottom and we've taken all the carpets up too! So we are in a mess!

Please go back previous posts to view the Squares! Each one was made with such perfection and the detail on them was unbelievable! I gave my Mother a photograph of the Flags and she had great pleasure showing all her neighbours!

100 Crocheted Olympic Flags!

These Squares are amazing thank you so much for taking the time and trouble making them! I just love them!
What a lot of patience Santha must have had to make all these Squares! So....interesting!

It is always very nice to receive your emails telling me how much you enjoy the 'SIBOL' web site, but could I also tell you that we have a group on RAVELRY too! I will give you the link, why not pop over? We have monthly Square Swaps and you are most welcome to join in. The Ladies are a great bunch and we have daily chats and everyone is most welcome to join our Group.

If you would like to visit our SIBOL CHALLENGE web site, please follow the Link. I am sure there is something that might interest you!

Are you on Flickr? Why not join us there too? My photostream is Flickr Mrs Twins you are most welcome to pop over and view our latest Squares received. This is where I keep a visual record of every Square that arrives in my home. Without Flickr I would be lost, it's a great place to keep myself on track!

We also have SIBOL - The Archive. This is a place where we give information about Squares that we have made. You might find a different Square to try on there.

If there is anything at all you want to know please email me Sue on sueatpigsty@talktalk.net

Thanks for visiting this evening!

One of our 'SIBOLETTES' deserves a Gold Medal herself!

Hi Everyone!

Thank you so much for visiting the 'SIBOL' web site today!  What an exciting couple of days we are having!

If you haven't read yesterday's post please go back and catch up with our Group news! We have been nominated 'Club of the Month' in a UK magazine called 'Knit Today' and the write up and photos are superb! I am so very proud of all our 'SIBOLETTES!'.

I would like to thank Kianie (RAV) (UK) for the gorgeous Square received today. This is her 'Favourite Square' and will be sent up to 'Inside Crochet' as they are collecting favourite Blocks! It certainly is very pretty indeed Kianie thank you.

Kianie (UK) 'Favourite Square'. Thank you!

Not only did Kianie send me her favourite Square but she also sent me two pretty gifts she had made. I love them both so much and you have made them beautifully Kianie! A beautiful hand-made card complete with a fluttering Butterfly and a Crocheted Heart on a ribbon with beads, a button  and the words 'I Love SIBOL' using a red sparkly Heart for the Love! I Love SIBOL too Kianie!  These photos will be going on to my side bar. I am really touched by your kindness thank you Kianie!

A beautiful 'SIBOL' Heart made for me by Kianie! Thank you!

A card made for me by Kianie! Thank you so much it's gorgeous!

Aren't they pretty! Wow! Thank you very much indeed.

Well it's been an exciting day all round today. This morning just now in fact at 11.50am I received a parcel from the States! The parcel has arrived from Fort Myers from a very kind Lady called 'Santha' (akarapacha) on RAV.  I have been expecting this parcel for a few weeks now and today I am just so pleased to be telling you that it has arrived! I am sure she will be so relieved in knowing this and I know the Ladies on RAV will too!

Well I am sure you are wondering 'What is inside the box?'  Now you will have to excuse the photo of me but I did want you to see me receiving it first of all! It's very difficult trying to hold a box and take a photo with no glasses on either!

048

akarapacha (Fort Myers, USA) (RAV) has sent me 100 Olympic Flags! They are wonderful!

Yes inside were 100 Crocheted Flags of Countries taking part in this Summers' Olympic Games here in London. I'm sure you are longing to see the Flags!

Here I am 'MrsTwins' with Flags from the States! Thank you so much akarapacha!

I've taken so many photos I thought I would make akarapacha a Slide Show, sit back and enjoy now.

Created with flickr slideshow.

Every one knows that I appreciate each Square that comes into my home, whether  it comes from here in the UK or as far as the States, Singapore or Australia I appreciate each one.  But when one of our 'SIBOLETTES' has gone out of her way to really work hard for our Group and make this amount of Squares for a Challenge I think she has to be congratulated. I must say that each one of the Squares has been crocheted beautifully and each Square has been labelled with the Country too. I'm just so touched today by her kindness, I could actually shed a tear. The Flags have been made to the highest of standards and I just hope now that I can make a Blanket worthy of them and that I won't let you down akarapacha.

I'm sure everyone visiting 'SIBOL' this evening will want me to congratulate Santha for her hard work and tell her what a wonderful job she has made of them.  I just cannot thank her enough words fail me on this occasion.  From the bottom of my heart 'Thank you Santha' and let us hope that we can raise some serious money for Alzheimers here in the UK.

I am opening a thread on RAVELRY, because I am sure everyone would like to personally congratulate her for her outstanding work!

I am over the moon as you can imagine!

Thanks for visiting our web site and may I thank every one for their congratulations on getting in to 'Knit Today'.  What a week!

and ......'Club of the Month' is..........'SIBOL!' We're in Knit Today! Well done everyone!

Hi Every one!

Well earlier in the week Melanie (corner left of the mosaic above) told me that 'SIBOL' was in 'Knit Today'. I have been patiently waiting all week to get hold of a copy and this afternoon I bought one from our supermarket.

I am absolutely over the moon because 'SIBOL' is 'Club of the Month' in their magazine and there is a fantastic write up for our Group and also some wonderful photos! The mosaic that we sent up has come out really well and it's really nice to see our 'SIBOLETTES' taking pride and place!  Well done everyone I am just so proud of you all!

It mentions in the article that our 'SIBOL' project was started in Memory of my Grandmother which it was and today is her Birthday! I am so happy, what a nice way to say I am thinking of her.

'Knit Today' 'Club of the Month' is 'SIBOL!'

Click on the photo it will take you to Flickr and then go to
'Actions' and 'Sizes'.

Squares, Squares, Squares!

Good Evening Everyone!

I apologise for being late with this post, lots of things have been going on behind the scenes 'family wise' and 'SIBOL' wise. I haven't had much chance to sit down and write my post to you.

First of all I would like to say how grateful I am to everyone that has made Olympic Squares for me. You know I have been working quite hard over the last six months trying to get in Squares for our special 'Olympic Blanket'.  This Blanket will be made and auctioned on EBAY around the time of the Olympic Games to raise money for a really worthy cause 'Alzheimers' here in the UK. This dreadful condition effects many people and it is quite distressing for the sufferer but also for families watching on. I decided on Alzheimers  in particular because of our work with the Elderly.  I know our Blankets in the past have gone to people with Alzheimers, I thought it appropriate.

The Squares have been coming in from Ladies from all walks of life, all over the World and I am most grateful to each and every one of you. The Squares have all been so very different and you have all used your imagination so well!  I can never thank you all enough for the time spent making the Squares and indeed posting them on to me. I am always terribly grateful to you all even if it's one Square for whatever Challenge!  You still have got a few weeks until the end of March if you want to make a Square for the Olympic Blanket  please let me know if you want to do one. Sue on sueatpigsty@talktalk.net as time is running out!

I would like to show you now some beautiful Olympic Squares which have arrived from the States, New York in fact! I have never received any from New York before! A kind Lady by the name of 'Willena' has sent them  to me and they really are wonderful! Some really great designs and of course appropriate colours! These are going to look great in our Blanket!

I love this one in particular!

I am very grateful to you Willena and I will have a lot of fun putting your Squares into our Olympic Blanket.

The next Squares have come in from Hieke in the Netherlands.  Hieke has very kindly made Squares for quite a few of our Challenges. Your work is amazing Hieke and thank you for taking such an interest in our SIBOL project.  Amongst the Squares are more for our Olympic Blanket 'Basketball' and 'Badminton'. We are certainly getting some variety for our Blanket. Great Squares for our 'Musical Challenge' too, wonderful ideas!

Hieke (Netherlands) Your Squares have arrived today!

The 'Irish Rose' Square has come out well  too. We've had quite a lot of interest in this Square. Some Ladies find it hard, some find it  easy! Why not have a go! Email me on sueatpigsty@talktalk.net for the pattern.
I've made a Slide Show for you Hieke! Sit back and enjoy!

The last set of Squares this evening have come in from Rachel here in the UK. I had a very nice email from Rachel and I'm sure she won't mind me extracting a small piece from her text.

She says,

"These flags helped to inspire me for my GCSE artwork topic, in which we are studying world culture. I did my title page entirely out of knitted flags and intarsia lettering. Thank you for inspiring me so much! I thoroughly enjoyed making these squares for such a worthy cause."

I was tickled pink to receive this email from Rachel. It is nice to know that our 'SIBOL' project is helping in many other ways too! The best of luck with your work Rachel!

Rachel made two Flag Squares for our 'Olympic Blanket'. I did actually have to check in my 'Flag Book' to find out which Country the Flag belonged to. I checked with Rachel and yes it is India thank goodness! The other of course is The Flag of England.  You have made the Flag Squares really well indeed and it's a pleasure to receive them. I do hope you will look out for your Flags in the Blanket when it is finished.

Let's take a look at them now. This one the Flag of India. The Green is for faith, orange for courage, and white for peace. The blue of the ancient Indian 'chakra' which symbolizes renewal - is for sky and sea.

The Flag of India is superb!

Enjoy your Slide Show Rachel and many thanks!
