A Slide Show of beautiful blankets, Challenge squares and Butterflies!

Good morning everyone!

I'm very pleased to be showing you some Challenge squares this morning. They have arrived from Linda in Belgium. We do still need squares for our Challenges and Linda has made a square for our 'Musical Challenge' and our 'One Heart From Around The World' Challenge. These squares are great Linda thanks ever so much.

It's always so....... nice to receive Butterflies for our Butterfly stash too. They really finish the blankets off beautifully and if you want to make any please...do! Linda these ones are gorgeous and will be terribly useful it's suprising how many we get through!

May I remind you we always need 'donated blankets' too. If you haven't got any projects on at the moment and feel that you would like to help us then please visit our Challenge Blog. We aren't taking in any 'stash squares at the moment' but we are also accepting Challenge squares and made up blankets. We have a few homes to visit in the very near future so your help would be appreciated.

I would like to show you some blankets now. Once again I would like to thank everyone that has donated squares for them. I would like to thank Anne for assembling them for me too. She has made a wonderful job and they are so....pretty!

I would also like to thank Anne for donating this gorgeous Large Granny square to SIBOL. This one must have taken a lot of work as it is larger than the others. Anne didn't have a use for it, so she thought of SIBOL.

pippa-anne made this blanket and donated to SIBOL. Thank you very much!

I love the borders on the first too and Anne has crocheted my favourite edging on the third one.

I have made a Slide Show now for the three blankets. I hope you enjoy looking at them.

Hello Sue, it's been a while since I dropped by SIBOL, but I see you're still very busy and making a real difference to the elderly residents with your blankets. Keep up the good work!

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
