Well Friday is here once again, soon comes around! I do hope everyone has a pleasant weekend.
It's my pleasure today to be showing you some lovely Squares that arrived this morning. Jan from the UK, I am most grateful to you.
Do I mind Granny Squares? I am often asked. Please don't ever feel that you have to make complicated Squares. I love Grannies or 'Grandads' as the case may be! I think the Squares can look so different with the choice of colour, and it's always nice to see what colour combinations arrive. I particularly like these Green ones that Jan has sent, take a look at them. The Squares seem so appropriate for this time of year with the leaves falling.
Jan very kindly sent me her 'Jan Eaton' Square. It is No. 14 'Alhambra'. So pretty!
I'm very happy to be saying that the 'Jan Eaton' Challenge seems to be very successful. The Squares are arriving fast now and it's nearly time for me to be making the Blanket up. But before I do there are a few Squares which haven't been chosen. Take a look in the Side bar and if you fancy having a go at a Block that hasn't been chosen then please email me and let me know which number you want. sueatpigsty@talktalk.net
I can't make the Blanket up before I receive the 25 Squares! What numbers do we have left?
Let's see. No's 1, 21. We are trying to get 25 different Ladies, so if you have had a go already, then please don't choose another number.
Haven't got the book? Let me know I will see if I can help.
I have made you a Slide Show Jan, before I do.....I am very pleased to say you are now officially a 'SIBOLETTE!'. Welcome to our happy group.
I do hope you enjoyed making them for SIBOL, thank you so much!
These squares are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour combinations. They are very beautiful.Well done, Jan!
ReplyDeleteSue, I'm enjoying your selection of music :o) It's so relaxing.
My favourite is Clair De Lune by Claude Debussy. This brilliant composer used Colours Patterns and Math Models like the golden ratio, to create sequences in sonata Allegro Form, in his romantic creations. Just Brilliant!
By the way, Congrats on wining Alison bunting, Lucky you! Take care,
Gloria xxx
Always nice to meet a new SIBOLette. I like how the green/red and white don't really feel too Xmas-ie....
ReplyDeleteGreat Weekend Wishes to All,
Kate
Those squares are gorgeous Jan i'm sure Sue will have loads of fun placing them into different blankies xxxx
