Squares from the UK and our 90th Ta - Dah!

Good Evening Everyone!

I am sorry I am late posting today. I have been out today and on my return I wanted to get the second of the 'Tropical' Challenge finished.

May I say once again thank you so much for taking part in this particular Challenge. The Squares have just been so lovely. It's a joy to put each one together, I appreciate each one thank you!

It was such a warm afternoon and I couldn't wait to get out on to the patio to take some photos for you.

But first I have some Squares, so I will keep you waiting just a little bit longer.

May I thank Mrs S. Carmell from Essex. I actually don't think she has got a computer but I will say thank you anyway. I received two beautiful Squares today and I'm just so happy that you've donated them to SIBOL. Thank you for the interest you have shown in our SIBOL project.

Now for our Ta - Dah!. This is the 90th. Ten more Ta - Dah's and we will be there at our 100th 'Sunshine Blanket'. What an achievement. I am getting excited now for our Big one!

This is the second 'Tropical Blanket' and I would like a name for this one please.

I do hope you like it. They were the most beautiful Squares and I had such fun with them.

Dear Sue,
I am so excited to see the square that I made (it is the 4th one down, right in the middle, just beneath the butterfly!) This makes me so insanely happy that it should make you laugh!!
Thrilled to see this is the 90th blanket. What a great job you did in putting these squares together! I LOVE IT! All these squares are so good, I am tickled pink (or orange) to have been a part of it!!!

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Please Note.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
