'The Sunniest Sunshine Blanket Ever! - Aussie Maria sends me Squares from Australia.

Happy Friday!

Welcome to all our new Followers, I'm pleased you are visitng 'SIBOL'. We have a Challenge at the moment running until the 21st April. Karin in the Netherlands has suggested we make Squares for the 'Sunniest Sunshine Blanket Ever!.

Details of the Challenge are on 24th March post.

I'm just writing a post today to show you the Squares I have received from Aussia Maria. Now, you'll going to need your sunglasses for these Squares because they really are wacky! So bright and sunny, just what we need for the special Blanket.

Aussia Maria has sent me Squares for the 'Sunniest Sunshine Blanket Ever!'. They have arrived this morning from Australia.Thank you!

Three Bright Squares, we need our Sunglasses on for these! So bright! Great for our 'Sunniest Sunshine Blanket Ever!'.

Well that's how the sun is here in Australia. We need sunglasses all year round, even in winter!!! ☺

are making and donating Sunshine Blankets

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
