Your Blankets Make Me Smile

Sue, your blankets are so very pretty and you are such a giving person that I just had to make this square and dedicate it to you. Your blankets are Smile Makers for the elderly and that's another reason I had to do this for you. I think this blog is a great idea and with all the colors on here it is a very beautiful one. So good luck with your blankets, I'm sure they will love them all. Take care, Molly

Oh wow! Molly! Your Square is beautiful, thank you so much. What a happy face and what kind words. I agree the Blankets do look really nice, but as I've said before I only put them together, which do take a bit of time. But its all down to the Planning really. If you get the Planning done (which is really the hardest part) you'll well on your way. The Squares from our friends are what make the Blankets. I know each one has been lovingly made and a lot of time and effort has gone into each and every one. They truly are beautiful. As I've said before I'm overwhelmed by the kindness of friends on Flickr and in Blogland. I hope I can make many more. Perhaps we could have different themes every now and then? An idea maybe. Thanks to all my readers whether they contribute or not.

wat een fantastisch project. het lijkt een beetje op het project knit a square waarvoor ik momenteel haak,maarik ga ook zeker kijken of ik wat blokjes kan haken voor jullie.

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
