Please may I remind you to enclose your email address with parcels delivered to my home. If I don't acknowledge receipt it's because I can't find your address. Thank you.
Well first of all thanks to everyone who have been leaving comments on SIBOL for Sally. She was asking about 'free patterns' on the internet and which book to use for Squares. The information was most helpful to her, so thanks very much.
Well today is the last day for 'Strawberry and Cream' Squares. I would like to thank everyone very much for
their wonderful Squares which I have received. They simply have been so lovely. What a time I'm going to have. I still have Flower Squares to put together I have had such a lot. The Blankets for the Flower theme were really popular. Thank you all for your kind comments on the Blankets very much appreciated.
Can I just say if there are any 'Strawberry and Cream' Squares which are in the post and on their way please don't worry about them being late. Even though the deadline date has ended, of course I will still use them.
Well I have had the most beautiful collection of Squares come in today. ed4448 (Flickr), Cathy from the USA has very kindly sent me some Squares for SIBOL. There are a variety of patterns amongst them all and it's been such a joy to look at them all. The colours are just so pretty. I just couldn't wait to 'take Cathy' out into my Garden and have a cup of coffee with her (ooh wouldn't that be nice!). Well you know what I mean.
I am showcasing your Squares Cathy in your very own Slide Show, I do hope you will share it with Mr ed4448!
First of all before I talk about the Squares that came in today. I want to ask you all a question.
We've had such wonderful Squares come in to SIBOL, as you can probably see. A lot of Ladies ask
'Where did the pattern come from?' Well this is why we have started SIBOL - The Archive This is a
place where you can go to find that special pattern. It's early days for us over there but we've already had
some Ladies post their Square on there with pattern details. So please pop over.
A good book to use is Jan Eatons' ' 200 Crochet Blocks for Blankets, Throws and Afghans'. Quite a few of the SIBOL Squares were found there.
But the question today is......'Do you have a favourite web-site which gives out 'free' patterns?' Would you like to share it with us? We'd love you to leave a comment and tell us where you go to find that special pattern.
I would like to thank Pol (MSE) Knitting Forum (UK) for the gorgeous Squares she sent me today! Whether you are starting out with Crocheting or even a more experienced Crocheter, the Traditional Granny Square is still my favourite. Just look how different it looks with a a variety of Colours! Your Squares are lovely Pol, thank you so much!
I've made you a Slide Show Pol, sit back and enjoy your Squares! Thanks again.
Well I'm so excited to show you more 'Strawberry and Cream' Squares!
These have arrived this morning from the USA.
Evelyn has very kindly sent them to me. You will see the Colours are
just so....rich and beautiful! They really are pretty. I do hope you will
check out her Etsy store she has some lovely items showing.
Sit back Evelyn and watch your very own Slide Show! Enjoy everyone!
Once again you all never fail to amaze me, with the variety of
Squares I have been receiving for this Challenge.
Thank you all so much!
I've had a busy morning. Lots of Squares today! I can't wait to show you.
First Karin of The Netherlands has very kindly sent me some great Squares for two Challenges. The 'Strawberry and Cream' theme and also 'Mens' Squares in darker colours for 'Mens' Blankets!' Her Squares are simply gorgeous and I'm so pleased she is enjoying doing Squares for SIBOL.
Thank you so much Karin! I'm presenting you with your own Slide Show!
Thanks Karin I really appreciate your Squares! I'm sure everyone enjoyed looking at your Squares!
I would also like to show you Squares from Pilar (pertinitaco Flickr) in Spain. She has very kindly sent me some Squares once again for the 'Strawberry and Cream' Challenge. Isn't it nice to see how everyone has their own ideas. We've said this so many times before. Each set of Squares is just so different. Pilar like Karin enjoys a SIBOL Challenge. I just couldn't wait to get outside really early this morning to take my photos. I do hope you enjoy looking at them.
Pilar, make yourself a cup of coffee and enjoy your very own Slide Show! Thank you so much for the wonderful Squares!
We've had some lovely Squares today from Karin and Pilar, thank you both so....much!
I am so pleased you are enjoying SIBOL!
Well it was so nice The Garden Bell popped over to the UK and saw her beautiful Squares today! I'm
pleased she took time out from her beautiful Garden! It was so easy to guess who had sent the Squares over. Thank you Kate! Great fun taking photos of them.
But then I had even more fun......I managed to finish SIBOL No. 20 today. This is 'Flower Theme No.5'. How many more you ask? Well I will have to have a look in my box but there is at least another one! Do I get fed up of doing them? I don't think so. Everyone is so different.
This No. 20 is in my opinion a bit more delicate looking. It certainly weighs less. The Blankets are quite heavy but this one definitely feels lighter I just went for a cream border on this one. I didn't want anything heavy looking around the border edge because the edging of the Squares was cream.
I just love going outside and taking my photos. May I thank you all for your lovely comments I get from time to time and in emails, much appreciated!
Well today we are going to play a little game here on SIBOL! Only a tiny one.....I'm just wondering if you know who these beautiful Squares are from? I'm going to give you a clue!
She lives in IL, USA
She loves the Flowers in her G.....?
Her maiden name was B...?
She loves Photography.
OOh, and she's left handed!
Guessed yet?
Want to see some photos of her Squares first?
Look at the photo......
I think you know who I am talking about! For you ? I am 'show-casing' your Squares in your very own Slide Show, enjoy everyone!
Yes, it's Kate - The Garden Bell!
Hasn't she sent lovely Squares for SIBOL? They are so lovely. I love the Flower Squares especially. I love them all, but the Flower Squares are really pretty. I love too the colours she has chosen. Thanks so much Kate and I'm sure everyone will agree they are really gorgeous Squares!
I am so pleased to tell you all that Lunas' Squares arrived today from USA. Luna is one of our 'team bloggers' and she has very kindly contributed to SIBOL on a number of occasions. She has made the most beautiful Flower Squares. Please don't worry about being late Luna, because I shall fit them in! Also 'Blue and White' Squares. Really have a look for yourselves, because her Squares are just lovely! I am so grateful, thank you Luna. I just loved the little bundles of Squares tied up, so pretty!
Luna - I am showcasing your beautiful Squares in your very own Slide Show! Enjoy everyone!
I have also had some Squares in from Sabiha in Finland. What a gorgeous set of Squares Sabiha! Thank you so much! In particular Sabiha surprised me and made me a Square with my car on. 'Sues' Clio! Isn't that just so cute! You will see it on the Slide Show you are about to see. Her Squares are going to be brilliant for the Mens' Blankets such appropriate colours, I am truly grateful!
I have had a busy Saturday.......More Squares arrived today this time from Merchy. Now Merchy who lives in Spain has sent me some Squares which will be great for a few of our themes. 'Strawberry and Cream' as you will see, also the Christmas Theme which is 'Red, Green, White' Squares and also some for the 'Mens Blankets!. I am so grateful to you and thank you for the Crocheted Butterfly, so cute! Merchys' Mother helps her make Squares and I'm really pleased you are both enjoying SIBOL!.
I'm late writing today 'sorry'. I have been out shopping with my Daughter today. A bit of 'retail therapy!'. When we got back there was a package waiting me. It was from Marion (UK). On opening I thought gosh there are a lot of Squares here! Marion had very kindly crocheted me '25' wait for it.......'Grandad' Squares she calls them! I had to laugh to myself. We always call the Squares 'Granny' Squares don't we? Well the reason was because she had made the Squares for our 'Mens' Challenge! Yes, that's right so she called them 'Grandads' opposed to 'Granny!'. Oh, gosh it really tickled me.....
I am so grateful to her. I am always pleased to know that everyone else enjoys SIBOL as much as me. We are all getting such pleasure from helping every one else. I think that's really nice. The friendship between myself and Ladies who contact me is just wonderful. I know you have all met new friends too through SIBOL. You know clicking on the link that I sometimes add, or indeed when you link your own blog if you are 'team blogging!' is just wonderful and I know for a fact that your visitors counter starts spinning round.
I'm really so pleased that you are enjoying SIBOL.
I have to say on this point please don't feel that you have to send Squares for every Challenge. You don't have to at all! Please just take part in what you feel you want to do. The Challenges are there to give us ideas of Squares to make. It's so interesting to see what every one comes up with. We all have such different ideas. Please don't feel that because you have contributed 'once' you have to again. If you don't want to that's absolutely fine with me. PLEASE just do what you want to do. I want you to enjoy it too, and I don't want you to feel pressured that you HAVE to make Squares! If you just want to visit SIBOL without making Squares that is absolutely fine with me. I just love having you all around! I love your comments
and indeed your thoughts.
I welcome everyone that is new visiting SIBOL, it's so good to have you enjoying the photos of the Squares and indeed the Slide Shows! Please visit our new blog SIBOL - The Archive. This is new this week so it's still in the early stages, but we are hoping to post photos of Squares on there and give information where the Square was sourced from. Lots of Ladies always want to improve their skills and this might be a way of learning something new. There's not much on there at the moment, but I am hoping our 'team bloggers' will post a Square on there in time.
Oh well I have babbled enough, sorry. I would like to show you Marions' beautiful 'Grandad' Squares, are you ready? Here goes.........
I do hope your week is going good for you! Today I have had two lots of Squares arrive. I would like to thank Colorbook (USA) and Louise (UK). Both Ladies have taken our Challenges on board and have enjoyed doing some Squares for us.
Let's start with Louise. If you would like to know any more information about Louises' Squares please pay a visit to our new blog SIBOL - The Archive. In this blog we are going to try and post photos of the Squares with some information underneath telling you where the pattern was sourced from. We are all eager to learn new stitches, so we thought this would be a good idea. Now Louise has very kindly posted over there so please fly over!
Just look at the lovely Squares Louise has sent for the SIBOL Blankets. Enjoy her Slide Show!
Weren't they gorgeous Squares, thanks so much Louise!
Colorbook from the USA has very kindly sent me some Squares once again so appropriate for our 'Strawberry and Cream' theme and also our 'Men's Blankets. Now we always think that it's Women in the Nursing Homes but of course there are Men!. So we thought we would try and collect Squares which would be suitable for those Blankets. You know the darker colours, the Blues, Greens, Greys, Navy, Brown etc., Colorbook has sent some really nice Squares and I was so excited once again to receive them this morning. Colorbook was the fifth person back in January to send me some Squares for SIBOL and she has been following our progress ever since. Very much appreciated Colorbook!
I'm showcasing Colorbooks Squares now, enjoy these pretty Squares too!
I am so grateful to both of you for taking the time to take part in our Challenges. Your Squares are just so wonderful and I just can't wait to make them up into Blankets for the Elderly.
Thanks to all our new Followers, thanks to Ladies leaving comments. Don't forget to write your Story either on a 'team blog' or in the comment box how you started Crocheting. You don't have to have sent Squares into SIBOL, you could be just visiting us. We'd love to hear from you. We get so excited when we have new Ladies join us.
Well hasn't it all been happening these last few days on SIBOL? I do hope you will click on 'older posts' and catch up with all the News! It is quite fast moving on here sometimes and I wouldn't want you to miss anything! I've been a bit quiet these last few days I have my Daughter at home 'Little Miss Twin 1' and Mr. Twins has been at home too. We went out for the day yesterday up to Sheffield Shopping Centre, Meadow hall. It was really nice and we enjoyed the day out together. Unfortuntaly, 'Little Miss Twin 2' was at work so she couldn't come which was a real shame.
Oh Joyce, thank you so.....much. Today's post was soo....interesting! I am so pleased you found the time to 'team blog' with us, isn't it just so much fun! I love having new Friends join us on here. You are right isn't it amazing what you can make with a few odd bits of yarn! Some gorgeous Squares you have there and it will be so much fun to receive them for SIBOL! Thank you so much for the wonderful words. I really enjoyed your post so much and I'm sure everyone else did too!
This actually brings me to an idea I had a few days ago. I asked Posy Linda who often comments on SIBOL if she would like to write about how she learnt to Crochet. Now Posy Linda hasn't got a blog 'as yet' so unfortunately she wouldn't be able to write a 'team blog post', but she has agreed to either email me her Story or write it in the comment box. So I will really look forward to this. Would anyone else like to do the same? It's absolutely fine if you haven't sent Squares for SIBOL, this is open to anyone who is visiting SIBOL. You may just be a 'Folllower', that's perfectly okay. Please join in the fun.
My email address is sueatpigsty@talktalk.net
You may not have a blog. Send it by email and I will type it up for you.
OR...... If you have a blog. Email me and I will send you an invite out to 'team blog' with us.
Let's have some fun. I think it's always so interesting to read how others started Crocheting. I actually learnt to Crochet with my best friend at school, I was around 14 or 15 years of age. We had Cookery lessons and while waiting for our food to cook we would sit on high stools in the Cookery room with wool and hook in our hands. We were always making Blankets out of Granny Squares and cardigans. What fun we had. This is my Purple Granny Blanket I made it's still at my Mothers' house. I'm afraid it has a couple of holes in it now, but I treasure it.
I'm so grateful to all the new Ladies who have posted on here, as I have said it's so interesting when we new people join us.
Anyway.........Let's get on to the Blankets...... I couldn't think earlier on over at Flickr how many Blankets I had Crocheted up. It's SIBOL No. 19. Can you believe that? Well anyway another one is finished. Thank you so...much for the Flower Squares everyone! Remember what I say.....If you don't see your Square please don't worry, you will do ....bear with me......I still have more to do.....
It's green again, I'm sorry about that, but I wanted to use it up and I actually like using the Green as an edging. It gives it more of a 'Garden feeling'. I hope you enjoy looking at the Slide Show and thanks again to everyone who has very kindly sent me Squares for the Flower Blankets in particular as this is what I am working on at the moment.
I've had a suggestion this evening from Wanda who very
kindly sent me some Squares.
She has suggested an Archive for Squares.
How many times does someone say......
'OOh, that's a nice Square could you share the pattern please?'
Let's help each other. I know we post informaton on here
and have nice chats about the Squares we have made,
but let's see if we can make a blog which is purely showing
Square information.
So you might show a Square you have made. But then underneath
write where you got the pattern from.
Just those two simple steps. A photo and details.
Let's keep it simple over there, rather like turning a page
in a Jan Eaton's book.
A photo and pattern details.
Shall we have a go? Please join us. If you are interested email me
sueatpigsty@talktalk.net for an invite.
If you don't have a blog, email me the picture of the Square and
the pattern details and I will post it for you.
Have a good evening everyone, and don't forget let's hear from you!
Hello everyone
Have a cup of tea , have a brake, relaxe and watch this video does it look like someone you know? haahaa I AM SURE it DOES.
with a little extra yarn and lots of love to create these.
Hi, I am 'Joyce' or real name, Frances, you can call me either, I love both my names.
I live in Australia, and I got to meet Mrs Twins and find out about SIBOL through one of my lovely new blog friends, Alice. I was going to share her blog here, but I haven't asked her or Mrs Twins permission, and as I am a guest here and not sure on blog manners and all that, I will leave that for now. Alice told me she was making some squares for SIBOL and when I come over to check it out, I was like 'wow', immediately dove for my little container of 'scraps' and started doing granny squares.
Well I can tell you now, I have an empty yarn 'scraps' container. hmmmm, might have to do me something about that now!!
I have been able to basic crochet and knit for many years, taught by my beautiful Grandma, Nanna and the most wonderful person in my life, my Mum.
My crochet granny squares have only recently been relearnt as most of my crochet has been straight lines, as I lost the know-how of doing a flat granny square and not a gathered, wavy, lopsided kind of 'mess'. I would so love to be able to make some of the stunning flower squares that I have seen coming through the SIBOL blog site of late.
Well enough about me, I would like to say thank you to Mrs Twins, thank you for putting together this wonderful blog, thank you for bringing our hooks and yarns together across the globe with one sweet loving intention, to bring some love and warmth to cold knees that need it most. Thank you to such awesome talent through the beautiful squares that are coming through the slideshows. I sit and gawp at all the loveliness.
If you are reading this post and you don't knit or crochet, but you know someone that does, please don't be shy in passing this blog onto them. Even if they don't have time to contribute, but perhaps have a few balls of yarn that they do not wish to use anymore, it would be greatly appreciated to help finish off the rugs. All those beautiful edgings for each of the rugs act as a frame for the stunning artwork to be displayed and shown off so beautifully.
Thank you Mrs Twins for having me guest here on SIBOL. It is an honour.
Hi Friends ! Here I'm showing my Strawberries and Cream Squares.Unfortunetly they won't arrive to the UK on time but I know Ms.Sue will use them for any other blanket. They are full of LOVE for the Elderly and / or / who need them .Hoping you all have a wonderful week. Aren't they cute and delicious? UMMMMMMMM ......!

Hello everyone!
Couldn't wait to show you "Sue's Clio" square haahaa. By the way it is TUNISIAN CROCHET.
I apologise for the weird underwater photos but here are my contributions. Could I heck find my cream yarn so I have substituted a slightly oatmealy cream. More a Cranachan than strawbs and cream.
The sun has all but left us here in the UK so I fashioned my own sunshine in the form of these bad boys. I have a thing for beach huts and made it up as I went along, I will happily share if anyone is interested although I’m sure you clever ladies could easily work it out. The fishies are from here and the ripple is from Pauline Turners book. She taught me to crochet via that book. Have you heard of her?
Just stopping my Crocheting to pop into SIBOL to show you the Squares that mainly came in yesterday from
Pippa S (MSE) (UK), Diane (UK), Margaret (UK). I had an awlful day yesterday with the Weather. I was so held up taking my photos. Then the Slide Show providers were running so slow. So in the end I had to leave it. Today it's just the same they are still running slow. Whether this is their fault, or whether it's generally the 'net!'. I also had some Squares come in from Gemma (UK) today as well.
Now I have to thank you all so much for the Squares they are just simply lovely.
Now I really do like to try and make you all your very own individual Slide Show. But unfortunately, I haven't had much luck again today. So I've tried something new. I decided to have a go with Flickr. Did you know they made Slide Shows? Well I have installed one for you, but everyone's Squares are just on the one Slide Show today. I am sorry about it, but I just can't sit here all afternoon trying to get it going.
I do hope you enjoy the Squares. Thank You so much everyone! Have a great Saturday!
I'm so busy today with lots of Squares arriving! I am having to make the Slide Shows when I can. The Slide Show provider has been running so slow......... The weather has been dreadful. I'm been unable to get a crack on with the photos. I pop out into the Garden whenever it stops raining.... and I do so want nice photos for you all! I just love taking the photos and making you your Slide Show! So when I'm unable to take the photos, I'm unable to put them on Flickr, then I am unable to make your Slide Show. I wish I knew a way to put them straight onto Slide.com without loading them all to Flickr but I don't 'as yet'. But you know this is all a 'learning curve' so I might just crack that soon!
Please go back posts there is a lot to read. I have had a busy day here on SIBOL it's been great fun! I also want to suss out to put something at the top of my blog, but as yet unable to do that either. I need to scan something which you 'may think appropriate!'. We'll wait and see if I can do it first..... I need Mr. Twins to help me with the Scanner. I don't know how to do that yet! He did write the instructions down for me BUT I've lost the bit of paper. I did phone him up at work, he did tell me. But it goes in one ear and out the other! I'm a bit thick!
Anyway, dear Wanda from Puerto Rico has made me Squares before......It is always such a pleasure to hear from her. Today she sent me a bumper collection of Squares, so appropriate once again for the themes. I am so....loving the SIBOL experience! How ever did I fill my day before?
I'm sure you all loved the Squares ....... and then we have 'Sabiha' who has very kindly been 'team blogging' with us! She has really been enjoying doing the Squares for SIBOL. We've had some nice emails too, thank you Sabiha. I took some photos in my home in the end because the weather has been so tempremental, even when the rain stopped the sky was pretty dark out there.
Here's your Slide Show showcasing your Squares! Enjoy!
Such pretty Squares, Thank You!
SQUARE SYNDROME is what i have after joining this group.it is said not to be so dangerous but may spread fast among crocheters be aware if you start making granny squares all day long and start feeding your family salad to get quickly back to crocheting pretending it is healthy, and plan on ordering pizza for the next week like me to not spent too much time in the kitchen you have it Here is what i have started doing today even before having breakfast i didn't want to spoil my insperation by making tea and having something with,... too much time ...haahaa
They will be sent next week to Sue only the salad i ate it. Even my salad looks like Granny square haahaa
Well we've had lots of rain showers here in the UK. At this very moment as I am chatting to you we have a sunny period but it's breezy. I've been outside nevertheless in between showers to try and take some photos for you.
I have finished SIBOL No. 18. Now this is the third of the Flower Blankets. It is always such a happy moment for me when I can show you one of the Blankets. I just long to get outside and take some photos for you. Today is no exception. I have trouble getting them on to the Slide Show today it's been running so slow. I have days like this with the provider and it is so annoying.....
I also have had lots of Squares come in today. I'm just doing a quick thank you now as I'm doing this post, but I am to email you shortly. So if you see this before you get the mail. Thank you!
I'm very pleased to say Wanda, Anne, Margaret, Sabiha, and Diane I have received Squares from you this morning and I will be contacting you this afternoon. I was just doing the post on here when the Squares have arrived so if you could bear with me. I will be writing personally to thank you. This is just in case you see it before. But be assured I will be writing. Thank you all so very much.
I've really enjoyed receiving the Flower Squares but I still have more Flower Blankets to do, so if you have sent me Flower Squares 'please bear with me'. I wish I could put everyones Squares into one Blanket. Well I suppose I could but it would be massive!
I say this many times on my blog...But I couldn't do this with out you. I appreciate each Square so much! So 'Thank You!'. Well here goes 'Flower Blanket No. 3 SIBOL No. 18 and we need a name please!
Joining the other two 'Flower Blankets!'
Here's the Slide Show,
Thank you to all who have sent me Flower Squares!
Thursday, 15 July 2010
Hi Everyone!
We've had a miserable day here in the UK today. Raining on and off most of the day. But something really cheered me up........Two packages arrived from Rebekka_uk (Flickr). What was inside? .......................
50 Squares!
Wow! Was I amazed!
I was so touched by Rebekka_uk's kindness. She had sent me all these Squares for our SIBOL Project! When I first started this project back in January I only EVER expected one Square. But to send me 50, I was so overcome!
Rebekka_uk enclosed 50 Squares altogether, 25 Purple and 25 Green. Split into 8 Daisy Flowers, 2 African Flowers, 16 Poppy Flowers and 24 Granny Squares. She also said I could really do what I wanted with them. Whether I wanted to split them and use them individually or make 2 Blankets. Well what do you think I will be doing with them? You've guessed correctly. If it's okay with her I shall make 2 Blankets. She even referred me to Flickr to see the Layout she suggested. So not much hard work for me on this one.
Rebekka_uk loves Crocheting as we all do, and I'm so pleased she has enjoyed making them for SIBOL.
I would like to now 'showcase' Rebekka_uk's gorgeous Squares. I hope you enjoy looking at them. Thank you so very much.
Aren't they just lovely? Such pretty Colours and pretty patterns. Have a good evening everyone and thanks for visiting SIBOL.
I have a friend 'Joyce' who wants to 'team blog' with us.
I have sent her an invite to SIBOL.
BUT she cannot access the invite and join us.
She has requested help from Blogger, but is waiting a reply.
Does anyone know a way round this please?
She is desperate to join our happy Group.
First of all may I say a big Thank You to Sabiha, Manda, The Girl, Helsie for their great posts! So nice of you all to take the trouble to write a post for SIBOL. You are most welcome to write again sometime.
I've had some Squares come in from Manda this morning. She lives in the UK and has a really lovely blog. I do hope you will pop over to it and give her some support. As she wrote the other day she has sent me some Squares and it's been a real pleasure to receive them.
Amongst her Squares was a delicious Strawberry which unfortunately you can't eat! Also some great Black and White Squares with really unusual patterns. I'm sure she will tell us if we ask her where she got the patterns from.
Also some lovely Red, White and Pink Squares. I couldn't resist laying them amongst my Flowers and taking some shots.
Here's one to be going on with.......
Beautiful delicious Strawberry......And now Mandas' Squares in her very own Slide Show. Sit back Manda and enjoy! Because I certainly enjoyed playing with your Squares! Thank you so much......
Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.
1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.
I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.
Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.
This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.
If I can help you please contact me
I'm Sue on sueatpigsty@virginmedia.com

SIBOL Squares From Australia By Annette Young.
I hope these Squares, Find their way to you, They're made with love And Friendship true. And though the miles And seas divide, Our crafting love Is just as wide. So make some Squares, For Mrs Twins, To spread some warmth And give some grins. When we give Squares, That we're proud of, We show we care With warmth and love. So, when crafters unite, Hooks and threads they twirl, For those in need, You mean the world. Annette Young. June 1, 2010.
The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.
Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
Welcome to 'SIBOL'.

Bethel of Bethania said...... Welcome to your new home...... nice lady lives here...... She will play with you often...... feel you, smell you, admire you. She will then let you have a wee rest.... then introduce you to some more new friends!.... You will love what she does with you..... She will give you a new life..... So new little friends don't be afraid....... all will be well!........
Thank you Alhana!
Alhana is passing on this Award not to 12 blogs, but to the Ladies on the 'group blog' on SIBOL for making Granny Squares for Charity. Well done Ladies!
