Squares from the UK today!

Hi Everyone!

Karin has certainly got us in the mood for our 'Strawberries and Cream' Challenge. She has just posted some photos of her Challenge today, please go back a post and have a look. SIBOL changes every day, so it is worth reading back. Thanks Karin so...much your Squares are beautiful. What a good idea you have there! I'm sure everyone agrees with me.

I would like to thank 'The Girl' today. She has sent me some Squares which will be absolutely beautiful for our 'Blue and White' Challenge. You are not too late, so please don't worry. When I give the deadline dates it's just really a bit of a cut of point. I know there will be some arriving just a bit late. 'The Girl' also sent me a gorgeous Square for the 'Man's Blanket'. So I'll be keeping that one with the others ready to start that Challenge. I'm so pleased you have joined our SIBOL project and I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. So thank you very much. I do hope you will pop over to her blog and say hello!

Haha!! Look at them! They're in a whole other place, it's so weird to see them in someone else's back garden when they were only in my grubby mitts about 24 hours ago!

Looking forward to contributing more squares in times to come!

With the help of my on-line friends we

are making and donating Sunshine Blankets

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
